"Consumer Reports" recommended the Amana refrigerator, but it wasn't available at Home Depot, Lowe's, etc. However, the brand was available at Setzer's. On May 6, we put the refrigerator on our Visa and waited for it to be shipped in. It was lost in the Setzer's warehouse for several days, but was finally delivered on May 22. The Setzer's crew set it up and we followed the directions to put the settings at 4 for freezer and interior. It didn't cool. We called Setzer's, who sent out an inspector, who said it didn't have any coolant in it due to a systemic leak. Since refrigerators are supposed to have a closed system, we opted NOT to have it repaired, but to have it returned to Setzers. Setzer's sales rep said it would have to check with Maytag (new owner?) to see if it could be returned. A request was made on Tuesday, May 30, to speak to the manager. The manager did not respond. A letter was hand-delivered that day about the problem. The manager did not respond. Since the product still does not work, it is a glorified cabinet or chest-of-drawers.
