 | The Hedgehog (0) 07/03/2003 | As you can see I think this is an exellent play, one of my favorite in the world. But I feel forced to say that this is not the work of femminism so many intellectuals claim. There are certinly strong female characters, Shackespear is full of them but Viola only has independance while disguised as a man and Olivia is on independant after her brother has died. The 'happy ending' is when both women lose their independance by getting married.
