I've been wanting to check this place out for years, and it did not disappoint. It's a gorgeous restaurant - the copper bar and the loft like upstairs are the highlights, and it has a cool triangular window onto Market Street. The service is understated and classy. The food was top notch - I had a caeser salad ($9) and polenta ($5.50). I've heard this place described as the classic SF restaurant - I couldn't agree more. (one downer: a round of three bloody marys cost $31 before tip).
