Dee Brown's Bury my heart at Wounded Knee, the factual story of the clash of cultures between Native Americans and a America determined to expand her territory. This book was pivotal in that it caused Americans to have a deeper appreciation for Indians and their struggles, and their place in American history. A great book and very disturbing to read.
