He and Azimov should receive special awards for effectively translating complex science into plain English.

Sagan had a real gift for explaining the universe to non-physicists. I particularly love his book "Broca's Brain," but of course his miniseries "Cosmos" and its companion book(s?) are the classic introduction to Sagan's work and should be viewed/read by anyone who cares what the universe is all about.
