 | Underspin (24) 04/11/2005 | Being an ex-Mission District resident, Magellen's certainly right, though I haven't had a decent one since leaving San Franpsycho. As an former bike messenger it was the perfect food to go for me - I could even eat while riding if necessary. One of these puppies wrapped in foil kept me going all day long, and I never grew tired of eating them. Even if I was low on funds, a simple black beans & rice would do it for me...great stuff, a kind of miracle food, indeed.

 | magellan (153) 04/11/2005 | Man do I love Burritos. I live in the Burrito center of the universe - San Francisco's Mission district - and I take full advantage. In a typical week I'll average 3-4 burritos, and the only thing that keeps me from going higher is that you're just not very hungry if you've eaten 3-4 burritos during a course of a week. My favorite burritos: green chicken with black beans, grilled chicken with refried beans, carne asada with anything, al pastor with black beans, and every once in a while, the deadly carnitas with refried beans. There are theories in SF that the San Francisco Burrito has played as big a role as any other factor in supporting the thriving arts and music scene here. Why? Because in an ultra expensive city, being able to get a three pound meal for 5 bucks is a very big deal to those on a small budget. All hail the burrito.
