Pretty subjective. I for one, think that questioning authority is a good thing for society.

Where would we be if  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. hadn't rebelled against authority?

Look where blind obedience has gotten us...

Sometimes rebellion is the only way to get your point across, nothing wrong with that!

I've questioned authority all my life.  Now that I'm a division manager in a huge company I have, ironically enough, another point of view, but you know what--I still encourage people to question me.  All I ask is for decency and civility.  All good bosses are able to accept criticism, hard though it may be, at times.  But questioning authority is at the heart of a free society and don't ever forget it.

Although I do not advocate senseless anarchy, I will always question authority.

Laws should be respected, not worshipped.

If authority is wrong then I'm rebelling against it. If rebellion was good enough for our countries forefathers then it's good enough for me. I'm simply carrying on the grand tradition. If you think this lacks class then you're living in a country based on this classless action. Why would you want to live in a country like that?

Authority does not necessarily equal right. Standing up for what you believe in (without being obnoxious) shows class, if anything. (*original rating changed to reflect 5 as not lacking class)

It all depends. I can see everyone's view. This is a classless thing to do because it is wrong, and God instructs us to obey our leaders and people in authority, even if we don't like them. It is really stupid and uncool to rebel against the police, especially if they are arresting you for something you did wrong. It is classless because in the end, where does rebellion get you? A guilty conscience and a nice jail cell. Yeah, that's really cool, ending up in prison with a criminal record. But on the other hand, some authority is unjust and evil and there are ways of fighting back in a legal way. Sometimes, when authority is being unjust, they sometimes are disobeying authority themselves by being unjust.

If authority is wrong, this is a sign of intelligence, not a lack of class. Authority is usually, but not always, right. . . It is normal to question and occassionally rebel.

Who's authority? The government, hell yes, rebel on! This regime needs to know what others think. On a different note: Respect your parents, you don't have to 'agree', just let them know with respect....you might get some results that way. All 5 of my little people do.

i always seemed to be rebellious but only against authority that was using that position for self serving reasons like rascism, harrassment,etc...but its how i handled it cuz i would not get very far if i handled it as poorly as those i rebelled against.in all my years i have been called lots of things classless or having no class has not been one of them atleast not in my range of hearing and if you dont have the guts to say it to the person you are speaking about you have no business saying it at all cuz then it carries no weight. i say what i feel but i dont maliciously say it just to hurt

I'm quite a rebellious person and I've never gotten along with authority figures (like my parents). That doesn't mean I'm classless. ... If President Bush declares war on North Korea by skirting the U.N. again, I'm gonna rebel and protest in Washington and speak out against our involvement in the war.

I don't see any sort of reciprocal relation between class and one's attitude toward authority. Did all the founding fathers lack class because they overthrew a tyrant? Did all the Iraqi people lack class because they despised Saddam? I don't think so.

Nazism in Germany thrived in part due to the fact that people did not question authority enough. Teach it to your kids young, even if it drives you nuts along the way. Good point by Mr.Political. If the theme were 'Question Authority', then I would rate it 5. But 'rebel against authority' depends on the context. I stand corrected.

There's no doubt in my mind that people should retain the right to question authority and their leaders. The stipulation being of course that they do it responsibly and respectfully in accordance to the law. When it comes to going against the grain just to go against the grain, or causing trouble without any grounds to do so is simply stupid and yes, classless.

Excuse me,but this good ole' U S of A would never have existed had no one ever rebelled against authority. All too often, throughout history, rotten and unscrupulous people have seized or manipulated themselves into positions of authority and abused and exploited those at their mercy. In such times, the rebel is a hero.(For the Christians:Did not your savior Jesus REBEL against the Pharisees?)

it depends on the authority, do we really think those who participating in non-violent protests during the civil rights movement were classless people?
