 | irishgit (153) 03/15/2006 | Castlebee has the right handle on this I think. This is more an indication of ignorant selfishness, rather than class.
Some people cannot bear to be off the phone, no matter what they are doing, and no matter what lack of consideration or outright danger is involved.
I carry one out of necessity, but I have it off as often as on. That's why I have voice mail.

 | CastleBee (85) 03/15/2006 | I don't really think it's a class issue as much as a safety hazzard. It's probably one of the most self centered and stupid ones too. If I am ever in an accident where this can be proved the cause - provided we both survive - I will not hesitate to hire a team of blood sucking lawyers who will pick this persons bones clean.

 | gollygwiz (0) 01/21/2006 | I have no problem with it as long as they pay attention to the road more so than the phone call. I would prefer the headset to allow people to use both hands for driving. Guilty.

 | RJFlesher (1) 05/23/2005 | Not as classless as it is dangerous and, in many jurisdictions, illegal.

 | Elf_ears13 (1) 05/03/2005 | Not classless, dangerous and stupid. There's a world of difference.

 | Gentle Jude (25) 04/18/2005 | Not exactly classless, but very inconsiderate and stupid. It is stupid because of the fact that you are at far greater risk of having an accident and putting other people at risk. Something that is worse then this, and this is totally selfish and even classless, is eg a taxi driver. They drive you to your destination and just before you are about to ask them how much the trip costs, they get a phone call and make you wait for five minutes. It is especially annoying if you are trying to give them directions and they are on the phone. This is totally selfish and why can't they just either pull over or wait until they have finished the job with you. If you get a phone call, pull over or switch it off.

 | ClassicTVFan47 (38) 04/16/2005 | Not exactly classless, but very dangerous and seems to show a lack of empathy on the part of other drivers. One should give their complete, undivided attention to the road when driving.

 | kattwoman (25) 04/15/2005 | maybe not quite classless but more selfish and in denial that they too as well as anyone else talking on a cellphone is a danger to everyone else. i cant count the numerous times that i have either been almost hit as a pedestrian, a bike rider, and another driver by someone not paying as much attention because they were talking on a cellphone. and many so distracted were never even aware that they almost wiped me out

 | kamylienne (80) 04/14/2005 | In and of itself, it isn't classless, but it is very typically foolish. It becomes classless when they flick other people off and shout obscenities when they're the ones who are driving badly.

 | Molfan (60) 04/13/2005 | Annoying and dangerous. when someone is talking on their cellphone they are not paying attention to their driving.I am finding cellphones more annoying anyway. Some people cannot be without them at all. it is pretty pathetic when I am stuck at a grocery store waiting while someone calls to see what kind of mustard to buy. Oh how important!or anywhere else where must walk around taking so important phone call.I do not EVER want to be a prisoner to a phone like that.

 | fut. struc. engineer (0) 04/13/2005 | Talking on the cellphone in the car is sometimes a wise way to use your time. Although some people get lazy or caught up in the least important,(talking on the cellphone), and end up cracking up or being inconsiderate to others. Hey, talk on your cell-phone, just remember the other person on that line isn't the only one in the world!

 | Jar-Jar Binks (17) 04/12/2005 | Not really. The person who dials my cellphone number and calls me while I'm driving is a classless freak.
