Slash is a great Guitarist. The first song that i heard and was impressed with him was the sweet child of mine.

Slash is one of the greatest guitarists ever he is a legend right under Jimi.

Give the man a top hat and some vodka and the jam session is on!!! When Slash came up with the intro to Sweet Clild O' mine he thought it sounded like circus music. Little did he know that it would be one his most loved songs of his career.

Yes.....to Me Slash is my favorite Guitarist,man I remember him since Jr high school,King Jr high school Los Angeles he played there, I think that was him, but it was defiantly Him AND Duff that played Hollywood High out doors lunch time gig one year...those two are like twin brothers.Slash little brother use to go to that high school too, I grew up in LA Silver lake then Hollywood,discovered Jimi Hendrix there and learned how to play the Guitar there too, its was rock and roll 4real 95 1/2 KLOS days.slash is a true guitar hero/ HERE WE GO HUH/ CHECK ME OUT ON BOOLANDRIX... maybe...if you said there are many musicians play like him simply because moslty like his styles..he bacame famous at 80's its 2008 already..so many of them are already playing like him...i became musician because of him..because of his influence...slash for me is great..at least he had contributed something at music industry..

A competant enough player but there's nothing unique about his style or tone. I dont particuarly rate or like them but at least players like Angus Young, EVH and Santana have instantly recognisable styles. Then  again i guess being a member of the vastly overrated G n R and the abysmal Velvet Revolver dont help matters.

There are dozens of guys who sound just like this, and you can hear them in bar bands around the country. Nothing at all special enough to put him high on a list like this

In rock and roll hall of fame night, this guy couldnt even sound half as mean as Eddie. He screwed up on 'Beat it' the tour with Michael and he messed up on 2007 RNRHOF tribute act.

I believe he is overlooked in the talent dept. because of his bad reputation.

He is a good guitarist though a little overrated, his guitar riffs are a little predictable. He is making an appearance on Alice Cooper's new album coming out July 29th. I heard the track and he shreds on that one since he is a big Alice fan.

Slash is another natural talent, self taught. The Guns N Roses material was exciting, some of the Slash's Snakepit stuff was interesting, but most of the Velvet Revolver material makes me wonder if he forgot how to play. Maybe he'll come back around to being creative now that Guitar Hero has renewed interest in his material.

He redefined rock in it's dark days. Renewed an appreciation for tone, and tastefulness. He can rock out with the best, but can also create some of the most beautiful and memorable guitatar melodies. His contribution to rock guitar is imeasurable.

The best guitarist in the world. Maybe second to Jimmy Page. Hard to tell though. If GNR had stay together his longevity on top and catalogue would be as long and extensive as Page's. Either way he still rocks.

Plays with the most soul i've ever heard.  You can't play like slash even if you are the most technical guy out there.

I wouldn't play the guitar if not for this guy.  I play nothing like him, but he inspired me to pick up the instrument.  Certainly not the most schooled musician, but I challenge anyone to play like him.  He has a style NO ONE could duplicate.  Not since Hendrix has anyone had such a unique voice with the six string.  Slash is Rock N. Roll.  He may not shred sweep arpeggios like Malmsteen and tap like Eddie, but you will always know it is Slash playing by the second note. If you aren't sold off of the GNR days, listen to Back and Forth Again from the first Slash's Snakepit album.  You will know.

While I will admit he is not the best, most technical guitarist out there..he is a person with whom the musical world is indebted to for the fact he has inspired so many to pick up and play the guitar or form bands just like the seventies rock guitarists did for their time. Musical taste is an opinion as well as who you think is the greatest guitarist ever!!! Don't knock somone elses choice you fags!!! SLASH rocks!!!
