From what I've seen I think this is more indicative of "retired but not giving a rat's ass" than class.

I wouldn't do it, but why the fuck should I, or anyone else care if someone does? Wow, here's a great suggestion for the next pogrom from one of the greatest geniuses in the history of this world, never mind the site.

Not lacking class but you do look like a d-bag.

At home, fine, but out in the public, it's a no-no.

I don't know about classless, but flip-flops and socks is definetely very uncomfortable.
Molfan 03/15/2006
does not bother me any. if they choose to wear socks with sandals. maybe they just prefer it or may have a reason for it.

I wouldn't say you lacked class if you wore socks with sandals or flip-flops, I would say you lacked fashion sense. Just hope you don't end up on one of those ambush makeover TV shows.

I think wearing socks with sandals looks so strange. I am a big sandal wearer, and I wear all of them barefoot (I have close to 40 pairs now) and I never wear socks in my sandals of any kind. I understand if you are a diabetic, and yo have to wear socks---even with sandals, but some people wear their sandals with the ugliest colors such as green, oranged or other color. If socks must be worn in sandals, I would prefer white socks. THen it looks a lot better. But to me if you are wearing sandals, they should be worn barefoot, since this is a good way to show off your feet. lol

Lacking in style maybe but not classless. To each their own.

Well, the majority of my four pairs of shoes have the thong things that go between your toes. . .and I can't wear the other pair half the year. . .so when it's cold out, I find nothing wrong with wearing socks and sandals.

Don't go to new jersey; it's the style there. My sister does this all the time. I don't personally like it, but who am I to judge?

I believe this was kind of a semi-grunge type fashion about 10 years ago. As much as I would have once never considered it (prior to that period of time) I admit that once I tried it (with Birkenstocks) I really liked it. Not the snappiest look in the world but OH, is it ever comfortable. Very good foot support and the durable Birkenstock socks were cozy and earth toned so they blend well with the sandals. I wouldn't go everywhere in them, but they were great otherwise. If that was someone elses idea of classless well, I doubt they know what they were missing.

It looks quite funny. When I think of this, I think of old people or male primary school teachers! Not exactly classless, especially since I've seen a lot of people do this.

I think they are just really proud of their socks.

Not the best fashion statement but I would not say the person lacks class.

sometimes its cold and i hate sneakers...i dont really think it has anything to do w/ my level of class its not like i would wear socks and sandals to a black tie event.

Depends really on this item. Some gangstas do it as a fashion trend. Some people wear socks with sandals/flip-flops when it is cold outside. That doesn't mean that they lack class. It's just a style.
