I like Puerto Alegre - I really do. The food is decent, it has a nice rowdy atmosphere, and the service is pretty good. What I don't understand is why this place is always packed. With tons of Mexican restaurants in the neighborhood - and plenty better than this place, why does everyone always go to Puerto Alegre? A mystery to me. That being said, my only advice on this place is to go easy on the chips - they keep refilling them until the food comes, and unless you're careful, you can wind up putting back 3 bowls of these things killing your appetite for dinner.
