It is a drink that might be considered an acquired taste. If you are French, Spanish, Italian, or Portuguese, you will probably like this drink. It is extremely refreshing when cold although most Mediterraneans prefer it warm.

I always thought Orangina was watery OJ with bubbles. However, it is a nice refreshing drink that does contain juice. I would have to say that Orangina is something that one might have to acquire a taste for because its not juice and its not really a soda in a traditional manner.

I don't see much of it around here, but it was definitely a welcome treat when I was in France and Switzerland, where you were lucky to find anything other than coffee or cola in the vending machines. Yes, it was easier to find coffee in vending machines than citrus flavored sodas.

In a market chock-full of syrupy sweet competitors, Orangina stands alone as a carbonated beverage geared more towards adult tastes. Orangina is not your typical soft-drink, as it is unique in many ways. As the label states, it contains 12% juice and 2% pulp, mostly derived from the fruit of oranges and to a lesser extent, lemons. Interestingly, the outside label instructs one to shake the bottle before opening (surprisingly, it doesn't explode), a rarity for carbonated beverages. Further, the pear-like shape of its distintive 8 ounce bottle is also hard to miss. Personally what I especially like about Orangina is that while it is a non-diet soda, the taste is refreshing and not too sweet. And although it is not marketed as such, it does contain about 20% fewer caleries than regular soda, while not having that chemical "diety" taste to it. As a mixed drink, I highly recommend Orangina with a shot of either Absolut or Stolichnaya (vodka); a carbonated splash of tasty perfection.

Well-packaged, well-advertised. 12% "real" juice? I am convinced. The taste is like no other.

This is probably my favorite mass produced soda. Hey, with 12 percent "real" juice, you can't miss!

This is a very good orange soda I like it .

This is a very refreshing drink but the bottles are small and you have to drink it out of the bottle and it has to be very cold or it just is not the same. Pouring it in a glass of ice kills it.

I haven't had this stuff in years, hard pushed to find it here in the UK these days. I remember it being very refreshing and light. Like it alot, and the fact it came in a small glass bottle made it different from the norm.

Different, change of pace soft drink that, not surprisingly, mixes well with vodka. Try it.

sooooo good. Words can't describe. Very hard to replicate exactly on your own. It's just so darn delicious.

Excellent, and a real change from standard soda. That tasty bit of real orange pulp makes it seem almost healthy! (almost!)

How can anyone not like Orangina? It is the best tasting soda pop out there!
CastleBee 04/23/2001
I really like Orangina. It has a very good light but distinct taste with just the right amount of zip in the carbonation. The only problem is that I have never been able to find it packaged in anything except those tiny little light bulb shaped bottles that only hold about 4 oz. I’ve never seen it in bottles the size pictured here, but would certainly buy it if I did.

It just proves that you can't add pulp to a soda drink. The two acids with the real pulp of the orange, being carbonated makes the whole drink taste really sour and bitter, as if you were having dissolved pill liquids.

Very intense flavor. Citrus taste is delightful. Bottle shape is appealing to the eye (bottled). I like the bits of pulp inside. I like the small things this company does versus other citrus sodas like Citron, Squirt, etc. It's better tasting.

I like this drink just for it's name. On the Frazier season finale, I heard Daphne keep saying Orangina over & over,

There are so many interesting other soft drinks out there, that this would not be my first choice. It is refreshing however.I have always loved the quirky bottle.

I love Orangina - one of the best beverages out there. I first drank it in France about 9 years ago and loved it, but was disappointed because I assumed it would not be available here in the US. Cool bottle. Thankfully I was wrong. It is not too sweet, and has a great refreshing flavor.
swan1763et 07/29/2000
Worst tasting stuff I ever had!
upchuck 07/28/2000
It quenches your thirst better than soda, but tastes a little diluted for my taste.
Spiralingmarce 07/28/2000
This is some good stuff. I first had it in Europe and it was much better than Coke, which was a little too prevalent. I've only seen it once in the states, though.
Shroomwoman 07/28/2000
Orangina is orange soda for adults. I love its tangy, not-too-sweet flavor. I remember drinking Orangina a lot when I lived in New York City. Unfortunately I don't come across it very often where I live now (Denver).
magellan 07/28/2000
I'm not afraid of having an Orangina once in while. The bulbous bottle and tangy, citrusy flavor make it a nice change of pace from soft drinks and sports drinks. I'm not convinced that it is good for you however... it definitely maintains a very artificial tasting flavor, not that that's a bad thing.

Orangina was all the craze when I was about 15 or so, with their funky little rippled bottles and shake shake shake ad campaign. Don't see'em to much these days but I still like them and often make my own little "orangina" concoction at home with Ginger Ale and Orange juice. Delish.
