My experience with the single barrel 10yr dark/amber rum has been very favorable to say the least. It has a very smooth clean taste that is easy drinking, yet maintains a full bodied flavor of molasses. Very nice on the rocks, goes well with cigars, desserts, or all by itself. Always amongst my favorite picks.

The absolute BEST rum is their "Black Strap" variety. It is quite dark and has a vanilla-molasses flavor. I was a big fan of Capt Morgan, but now me and all my bros are hooked on the BLACK STRAP!

I have drank all cruzan rum has to offer. I would have to say i appriciate the navy rum (blackstrap) the most for straight drinking. I dont know how many colors of 151 they make now, but I have a silver 151 cruzan, a gold 151, and a dark. which are all over 20 years old and fantastic for making homemade tia maria, or mixed flaming shots. In my Opinion the darker the rum that comes from Cruzan the more pleasureable the drinking experience.

The Cruzan dark 2 and 5 year rums are the best. Won taste tests in Florida 5 years in a row over Captain Morgan, Bacardi. There is also a Cruzan black strap dark rum is out of this world!!!

Have tried the Light 120 proof and the White 80 proof. Both very good middle shelf rums. Have to go with the 120 as the better rum but it costs considerably more too. A really nice version is the Diamond Estates 5 yr. for around $15 US. The price will keep going up....

The 80 proof white is a good mixing rum, and has interesting flavors if you drink it straight. Much better than Bacardi, and at $12 for a 750ml it's not overpriced at all.

Pretty good, but try the vanilla.
