 | angryjed (2) 01/18/2008 | Never saw a wrestler suck so bad at first only to become the most electifying man in sports entertainment. Face or Heel you always watched when the Rock was on. He cut some of the most memorable promos ever.

 | twansalem (36) 01/18/2008 | The Rock had all the in-ring and mic skills to be an all time great, however he chose a career in acting when he was in the peak of his career. While Stone Cold and The Rock both left wrestling at about the same time after a similar amount of time in the spotlight, I'm rating The Rock lower than Austin because he was younger than Austin, and he chose to leave in the peak of his career, where Austin didn't have much of a choice and retired because of a bad neck.

 | Amerith (0) 08/31/2007 | The thing that set The Rock apart from so many other wrestlers was his ability to entertain. His mic skills, gimmicks and general ability to put on great performances at the biggest stages the wwe had to offer will forever cement his legacy in the wrestling business. While he left wrestling to start acting, he is still loved my his millions and millions of fans. No many people have had a bigger fan base than The Rock who still loyaly follow him and keep hoping he wrestles one more match. For me The Rock makes my all time top 10 lists of favorite wrestlers and I'm glad he was able to find a career outside wrestling and was able to walk away on his terms instead of hanging on for too long like some other wrestlers have done.

 | lightfinger2000 (2) 12/09/2006 | Many would disagree with a 3 rating, however, his failure to allow himself to be used to push over other wrestlers, his short career span, and the fact that competition throughout the 90s in the w.w.e. was pretty weak limits me from giving him a higher score.I feel he did have great interview skills over anyone else in w.w.e. and he could perform well in the ring.

 | shroomy soup (2) 06/10/2006 | Probably the best of all time in terms of mic skills and charisma. He isn't a great wrestler, but he makes the matches entertaining.

 | kwilli9123 (0) 03/10/2006 | I think The Rock was average in style and skill as a premium WWF wrestler. What made him "Great" was his wrestling AND oratorical skills. His ability to deliver "ON COMMAND", quick razor sharp wit, enteraining commentary and or catchy phrases made him seem simply..."Electra-fying."
I find a wrestler, no matter how good, gets boring quickly if he does'nt speak well and or often. (e.g. Kane, George T.A. Steel)
Few wrestlers were as good as The Magnificent Muraco, Ric Flair, Roddy Piper and The Rock in demonstrating, (on camera) the ability to "quickly" articulate a blend of script and improvisational oratorical skill that kept you at the edge of your seat to see what he say's next. which makes for even greater entertainment to me.
In my opinion, The Magnificent Muraco was the first to present this style to t.v. wrestling. If you listen carefully to The Rock, you'll hear a lot of Muraco's style, including his famous speaking of yourself in the "3rd person" routine. If Ya Smell....What The Rock...Was Cooking?!

 | numbah16tdhaha (147) 10/19/2005 | Some good moves and amazing athleticism, but like a sucker I always found myself doing whatever The Rock told me to. He was magic on the mic and could get a crowd to chant anything. I even thought he was good as a heel. I laughed my ass off when he called Canadian fans "mother-canuckers."

 | Redoedo (39) 09/22/2005 | A solid wrestling personality with a phenominal following. As an actor, he lacks depth and range, but is entertaining provided he continues to recognize his boundaries and sticks to the type of movies that he does well.

 | ThinkAboutYourWords (0) 09/21/2005 | No doubt a good wrestler, good moves alot of fast pace moves, spectacular athlete, his mic skills is what made him tho, he could either make them love him or they would hate him there was no in between with Rock, Love or Hate, some loved to hate him, me i loved when hed come out, raise that eye brow, drop that elbow, Truly was the "Heart Stopping, Elbow Dropping, Rocked, Stocked, Eyebrow Cocked Peoples Champ!"

He was very talented on the mike and actually had the ability to do more in the ring but it did'nt fit into the WWE limited style. It appears he is happy makig movies but more than likely he will come back someday. I also would 'nt be surprised if he starts his own organization as some rumors have suggested.

 | judgement_man (0) 07/11/2004 | Greatest promos of all time and the most electrifying man in sports entertainment history. This wrestling great made his debut at survivor series 96 and his last match was at wrestlemania XX(2004).His gimmick and charisma is unbeleivably popular and globaly recongised.stone cold may have revoulotionised the business just like hogan did way back in the 80's but rock helped stone cold take it to that other level and his wrestling ability was brilliant to people do not relise what they are saying if they state he is an average wrestler in the ring or watch him wrestle form 2003 onwards before then he was awsome in the ring and there is not a person who can deny that his greatest feuds were with other legends such as mankind(mick foley)stone cold and triple h.Still in his early thirties this man could go on to be the most celebrated modern era wrestler of all time but has controversially chose not to and is becoming a hollywood star that is his own choice and i say good luck to you dwayne what ever you do even though i feel wrestling is your greatest strength.Do come back for a little while sometime soon though rock so you can even the balance of power triple h has got to much of at the minute

 | hotel283 (20) 06/23/2004 | While very different, this guy is the next Hogan. He even has a way better shtick than Hogan and transferred his cocky (and witty) talk into cocky (and thrilling) wrestling. Him leaving wrestling (yes kids, he's gone, cameo appearances on RAW notwithstanding - he was smart enough to know when it was over) is the death knell for this sport as we know it It will never go away and will have a renaissance one day, but never like it was while this man was king

 | ty901c (0) 10/23/2003 | Gimmick...Gimmick...Gimmick=Great. Wrestling=Average, but better than SCSA. The Rock took the heel to new levels. His fued with SCSA is one of the best in Wrestlemania History, no questions asked. HOW FUNNY IS THIS GUY...when they ran the car stolen deal about 5 years ago...Do you like PIE? Funny stuff. Funny. Finally The Rock Has Come back...

 | jdsteffen (0) 09/21/2003 | You have to give him credit on the mic, and in the ring, but it seemed like he was pushed to the top way too fast. Plus the fact that now he's into hollywood just brings down my opinion of him as a wrestler even more.

 | barryj (0) 06/27/2003 | The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment. This guys promos are the BEST EVER. His matches with HHH,Foley,Austin, & Taker also proved that he has the in ring skills necessary to be considered one of the best ever. He has done as much or more for the industry as anyone not named McMahon. Let him go Hollywood, he has earned the right. He is THE GREAT ONE.

 | Texx (0) 11/24/2001 | He's too young to be placed on the all time list but he is one of my very favorites to watch these days. Desperately needs to work on his ring psychology would strongly improve if he could sell more believeably. He's turning into a brawler which is a shame considering his potential as a ring worker. Applies the ugliest sharpshooter ever and needs to drop it from his arsenal. The best mic skills in the business when a heel or cutting a promo but struggles with his lines noticeably during backstage skits. Stole the name "The Rock" from Ole Anderson. Stole "the People's Elbow" from Paul Orndoff. Stole "Rudy Poo" from Iceman Parsons. Stole the "Rock Bottom" from Antonio Inoki. Stole the "smell what I'm cooking" thing from Slick. Invented the "People's Eyebrow" by accident while stealing Shawn Michaels' look over the sunglasses routine. Got to the WWF by ripping off Lex Luger's entire gimmick as "Flex Carvana" in the USWA. I could go on and on so let's just say I haven't seen him do a single original thing yet, not even the "Smackdown Hotel".
Problem is, he's doing it all at once and arguably better than the originals. The jury's still out on his ranking on the all time list however. I see nothing but greatness in his future for now but will be a second fiddle until Austin retires.

 | stooge (0) 06/24/2001 | How can you have a list of wrestling superstars and not include the "Peoples Champion". The Rock is a very good technical wrestler with a lot of personality. But his most important tool is his mouth. He has introduced so many phrases into the wrestling world. "Can you smell what the Rock's cookin?".
