Veuve-Cliquot is an excellent champagne. However, I sometimes find it to be a little dry. The price is excellent for a French champagne, and you should pick on up and try it. The bubbles are perfect in this champagne as well, and it has never exploded when I've tried to open it, which is a super plus!

This is exactly what French champagne should be (granted, I've never been fortunate enough to try anything as pricey as Dom Perignon). It is dry, bubbly, and pleasantly smooth with no weird alcohol-y aftertaste. In the limo on a way to a wedding we were passing around different bottles and this was by far the best.

This non-vintage brut has to be one of the most consistantly delightful and finessful champagne bargains from the Champagne region year after year. And the 1990 vintage Brut was exceptional. This house knows how to make a light and engaging sparkling wine with an explosion of fruitiness. My favorite champagne house. Thank you Veuve-Cliquot.

A personal favourite... even when compared to my experiences with vintage Dom '90 and '96, it remains, inconsequentially, the less-pricey victor over my palatte. With respect to recommending it to others, I would put it on the same level as Dom, and in the case of the Grande Dame variety, slightly higher... reason being its more robust flavour.

I personally found the Veuve Cliquot yellow label to be dry as sand. I enjoy Brut and xtra Brut champagnes but this one was just too dry in my opinion.

I tell people in a pinch to grab this label. It's easy for most to remember and it won't offend the champenois. However, many others are missing and it's extremely dependent on the vintage. I would still prefer a 1990 anything over almost any 1992, 1994, 1995. I am hearing good things about 1996 but haven't started accumulating yet. The 1990 Pierre Moncuit Cuvee Nicole was the greatest champagne I've ever had when it was young. It faded fast in 2002. (Richard Juhlin is wrong IMHO) I prefer the 1990 Bollinger Grand Annee over the RD of the same. The 1990 Delamotte was great when young. Champagnes I think are over rated and over marketed include, Dom, Cristal, PJ and all Krugs except the Les Mesnil. But one can do just as well to drink the Salon's at half the price. It hardly bears mentioning because of the rarity but the Bollinger Vielle Vignes 1990 is the most awesome thing on the planet and you will be not disappointed if you ever have a chance to taste.

Defitnatly not as good as Bollinger or perrier-jouet, the taste and feeling after having a couple sips is not as warm feeling and the buzz is closer to a liquor buzz. after drinking our faces were not as rosy. Maybe the bubbles are the key. It's is still good but not great.

There are lots of good champagnes out there, but Veuve-Cliquot is by far my favorite.

One of the finest Champagnes from the Epernay region of France. Full bodied with subtle undertones, this champagne will complement any occasion (also reasonably priced).
