It all depends on the person, not the fucking music they listento. Marilyn Manson fans are hella stupid, but thats NOT REAL GOTH. Real goth is like the Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, 45 Grave, The Virgin Prunes, etc. Think before you post, silly Mortal!

Violent people are violent.

Yes this is a very common misunderstanding of goths. Most goths are pacifists that i know of.

once agian i agree with gothic pride goths have two sides nice side and don't f with me side this is becuase we are always under attack by chavs and other yupes and things we need to fight back but oly when it is very nesessery.we are not violent by nature.

Why doesn't everyone stop judging goths by the way that they dress! i know that that is the whole case with you idiots! you look at someone who wears black and automaticly think something of them without actaully taking to time to get to know them.

Goths are not as violent as the general public makes us out to be. We actually think before making a derastic decission. How about all of you anti goth people go talk to the gangsters who get in fights over scittles and think that they are so hard!

This is mostly out of ignorance - the public getting topics such as Columbine's Trench-coat Mafia confused as something particularly gothic...it wasn't. Actually out of all the groups of counterculture I've been exposed to, goths are probably the LEAST violent of all of them, with very few exceptions.

Goths are no more violent than the general population. In fact, in my experience, I have found goths to be less violent with many members of the community taking a staunchly passive stance on violence. While the existence of darkness and violence in this world is openly discussed within the subculture, the use of violence toward oneself or toward others is frowned upon.
