A tasty full bodied brew good with chips & salsa or any Mexican food. Probably 3rd behind Bohemia & Negro Modelo for this type of lager.

12oz bottle, pours a dark amber with a vanishing head, overall a very average beer

A Mexican beer that tastes pretty much like Millers, A-B, Coors, etc. Clean, refreshing, not much flavor.

I didn't think Dos XX Amber was that great. Not bad, just kind of ordinary.

My favourite Mexican beer; clean, crisp taste. Squeeze a thin lime wedge in the bottle; no glass necessary. Drink ice cold, you'll agree!

A nice beer.

If you are having spicy mexican, Dos Equis Amber has the body to counteract the heat and the flavor to be savored. Its got good balance and enough heft to it so that its substantial, especially on draft

A little heavy for me, but still very good.

Serviceable. . .an okay amber. . .it's about as good as Mexican beer gets. . .

Although Corona seems to have taken over Mexican beer,to a casual observer, the first Mexican beer I had was Dos Equis and I'm still partial to it.

The perfect Mexican beer IMHO. Very smooth, almost a little sweet. Even better when it's on tap, in a frosted pint glass with a fresh squeeze of lime. (And with Chips and fresh authentic salsa of course)

It was pretty decent. By far the best Mexican beer I've tasted. Really, it's the only one I've tasted if you get my drift.

white people like to drink this and the other Dos Equis XX when they go to Mexican restaurants. it's comical. i prefer Budweisser to this slop

This is a decent beer I've enjoyed for over a decade. It is sure to increase in popularity because of widespread marketing in the last two years.

Very good. 4 1/2 Stars. Can pound 6 or 7 on a college football saturday and still drive home.

A truly great Mexican beer - no wonder it goes well with spicy food. Skip the lime (leave that for the Corona) and just enjoy the flavor of an excellent beer. Not too heavy, not too light, but just right.

A good brew that goes well with food. It can get heavy on the stomach, however, and may leave a too-strong aftertaste for some people. Definitely fine stuff, however.

Great Crisp taste

This is a marvelous beer. Beautiful color, rich in character and light enough to have more than a few. I prefer it over Negro Modelo. While the lime works well with the Especial, I think putting lime in the Amber is a is a mistake--not a tragedy, just a mistake. Great with spicy foods!

Negro Modelo is better but this one is great if you can find it.

Pretty good with lime & salt, but almost too strong for me.

Very good beer. The Amber is much better than the regular Dos Equis.
djbuddha 06/12/2002
The best Mexican beer I've ever had. Beats the hell out of Corona. If you haven't tried it, go ahead and do so.

I enjoy this with a lemon or lime wedge in it. It isnt something I'd buy a case of at home, but if I'm out with the girls and feel like having a beer I'll order it.

At Maritas in Bryn Mawr, PA, I treated a friend suffering from what appears to be a terminal brain tumor to her first Dos Equis XX Amber with the traditional twist of lime. We were both delighted and she spent the next week having her son track down a case of the stuff. I don't know if it was the lime or the beer, but it was truly delicious and I will always remember the pleasure it gave my friend. It has become my beer.
