This beer has a robust flavor - I wouldn't recommend it for someone that is used to drinking Bud Light and Coors Light. It's a good beer to drink dinner with. I like drinking it up a good steak and baked potato. It really hits the spot.

I think Harp lager is better than Bass Ale and I much prefer it mixed with Guinness Stout (a "Half and Half") than Bass Ale mixed with Guinness Stout (a "Black and Tan"). However, I think that is just because I prefer lagers to ales. Both are good quality brews by the Bass brewery.

First of all the Harp sold in America is brewed in Canada. Second, it is a Guinness product. A fine lager beer with a bold flavor that puts the hop bitterness right out front. When you want something a bit more complex than Bud give it a try.

Good taste, much better than almost all the American lagers.

A very nice beer!

Easily one of the better pale lagers I've tasted. A little more flavor than the other megabrews, though I do prefer Tennent's.

Darks and Ambers are love-it-or-hate-it beers, but Harp for me is one terrific brew that goes with anything. . .it's a great beer to order when you are trying to impress a girl who is way too smart for a Bud. . .

Enjoyable lager that is consistently pretty good on draft. It has the hop balance I prefer and more carbonation than most other Euro beers. It's light enough you're good for a few before you get loaded down and pairs very well with heavy, especially fried, pub food.

Nothing fancy. Just tastes like beer should. Worth the extra money vs. Bud, MGD, Coors, etc.

not really any better than alot of other european lagers, I usually get this when I pick up guinness to make a black and tan. really freaks my guests out to see how a stout can float on top of a lager, different SG's.

I'm drinking one right now. I think Bass is very similar and might actually taste a tad better. Harp is a pretty decent beer with a strong flavor.

On St. Paddy's Day, I'd be havin' a wee drop.

It's the one I almost always go for in an Irish pub (unless Stella's there). Very simple, no frills beer. Light on the flavour, but I like it's finish and aftertaste. It lingers nicely.

Slightly better than piss-water!
irishgit 02/09/2004
Very over-rated. Not one of the great Irish beers. No better than average.
Dragon 5 01/09/2004
Way over-rated. It's not bad, but it has nothing to distinguish it as a truly great or even good beer. I'd rather pick up a Sam Adams or better yet, an Old Speckled Hen.

An average Euro brew that's easy on the stomach, but doesn't have much in the way of a remarkable palette.

Tops in the world of lagers in my opinion.

A good solid step above common American lagers. A good "day after" beer it also lends itself well to mealtime consumption as it doesn't overpower lighter foods while providing a good flavor profile.

Bit under rated. I dont drink this one in pubs (Ale-stout drinker) however its my favourite can beer. Cann´t really go wrong there.
magellan 10/06/2000
In my opinion, the worst of the high-brow, imported beers. While it is tasty, it does not possess any unique or compelling aspect which would put it above a Budweiser, for example.
Ruby 09/14/2000
C'mon this a pretty average beer. I'm surprised to see the high ratings on this one.
ljri2960om 01/13/2000
Not too heavy, not too light, just about perfect.
