Man this was the bomb in the 50's...Who's the leader of the club that's made for you and me....MIC..KEY...MOUSE. A pretty cheesey show even then but there were no competitors that I can recall. You were lucky to have three channels available most places so this was great for that time. The Hardy Boys, Spin and Marty, etc. were pretty well done on a small budget and we couldn't wait for another cartoon. Jimmy Dodd was a bit too goody-goody and what was with Roy? Anyway Annette was fine and I remember Karen, Cubby, and Cheryl. The talent portion was impressive for a little kid too. This is through the eyes of a 7 year-old kid. And in beautiful black & white too!

Just the thought of a bunch of kids sitting around with stupid mouse ears on is eerily bizarre. Did they serve them cheese in between sets?

Dont listen to the people who dislike it because they dont understand how much of a good show it was with out it we may not have many things for example: the hats at Disneyworld or the MMC that had the stars we see today like Britney, Xtina(cough..ho..cough)and Justin

What can I say? I love Annette! She's the only reason to watch this show (the original 50s series, not the ones that followed with Britney Spears and friends), although you also can't help liking someone with a name like Cubby! I always thought that was cute. The classic Disney cartoons that are featured in the middle of the show are OK too.

Could there ever be a more annoying and irritating show than this? Listen to that god-awful theme song! Who would enjoy listening to that and singing along? I mean, Come on! Why would anyone above the age of three watch this and think "Oooh! I like this show!" If there was someone over the age of twelve thinking that, Then I'd be thinking "Pedophile!" Then again, A lot of old farts watch this just to see Annette Funicello jump around in a tight sweater.

I liked this show when it was being re-run on a local station during my early childhood. I was especially thrilled one day at about the age of 8 to find Mickey Mouse ears for sale at a nearby dime store. I'm afraid trying to re-run or even sit through more than 10 minutes of it today would be a total snore for children or most nostalgia-seeking adults alike.

I saw this on repeats and it was pretty good. I can see there were some talented kids. Each day of the week had a special feature day. They showed Disney cartoons. It does look a bit out of date now. It is also a bit bothersome that they only had caucasian kids on the show.At least in the 50s version.

At times it could be dull, but if programs are to be judged by their best works, then this was a very good show indeed. The children were genuinely talented and likeable, and did some fun things. And yes tototoo, I remember Annette...and Cheryl Holdridge, and Karen & Cubby...(but I wasn't a teenager yet - not even close).

Remember Annette Funicello? This was a great show for teens.

Poor, mawkish writing, obnoxious, semi-talented child performers, tired and uninspired formulas and the usual drecky Disney cartoons as filler are the prime components of this insult to anyone's intelligence. I hated this show when I was a kid, because I thought it was totally square, goody-goody and retarded. I only watched it for the cartoons, which, when I saw this in syndication a few years back, impressed me as being pretty lame, too. Seems to me this show sent out some onerous and odious messages. Let's face it folks: Disney sucks, and always did.

I thought that the Mickey Mouse Club was rediculous. How can anyone be entertained by anything Disney? It sickens me to see grown adults watching that crap!

I wasn't even born when the show was new but I caught it when it came back in reruns in the 70s (I was in to the 50s, even as a kid). Admittedly, it wasn't a particularly well written show. Some of the routines were embarrassingly bad. But there were little enticements that kept us coming back, willing to put up with the drudgery. For one, everybody had a favorite Mouseketeer to have a crush on. Mine was Cheryl. Then there were those serials. They went from very good to amazingly bad. My favorite was the first Hardy Boys one. Then, maybe best of all, there were those classic Disney cartoons, made years before the show itself. That was often the only time we could see them. And by the time all our Mousekateer friends sang the ending theme song and Jimmy Dodd reminded us "because we like you," there is no way we wouldn't be back for the same old routine next time.

I can remember being three and sitting down to watch. I learned so much from this show. It was something I couldn't wait to see.

If this is the one starring Lis Whelchel and Julie Piekarkski, then you've got my vote!
