Seems to sort of make a mockery of the whole position. I would prefer that GWB attempt to pull out of the UN before mocking the whole concept by trying to forcefeed a thug into one of our top diplomacy positions. Interesting to see serious reservations on both sides - it would seem only that the very most partisan can stomach giving support for this guy.

Personally, I hope the Foriegn Relations Committee gives him the thumbs down. Not that I don't think the U.N. needs reform (does it ever!), but if you put some nut job like this in there and all you're gonna get is unnecessary friction. Bush needs to look at eroding republican support for this guy and think. We need somebody that shows at least an ability for constructive critisism, not just closed minded hot headedness.
