I have to give him a little credit for calling out Bush about Katrina,but his recent behavior Is tacky beyond words.Getting liquored up when appearing on national TV is a BAD career move! I honestly don't know how good or bad his music might be,I hardly ever pay attention to rap.

I don't watch TV news all that often, but I make it a habit to check into Google News every once in a while throughout the day, and this story about Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift's speech during an awards ceremony was all over the place.

My first reaction was, who's Taylor Swift?

My second reaction was, that while West's outburst was uncalled for, I suspect that either his agent or one of his functionaries likely put him up to it to drum up publicity.

If that's the case, then what's the use for getting all wound up about this? It's just a publicity stunt to get people talking about him. In fact, what's the purpose of even caring about this kind of stuff? The world has enough problems as it is!!

Just another distraction in the broader scheme of things.

As the axiom goes "It is better to be thought a fool.., than to open your mouth and remove all doubt". So Kanye West is a fool. Most of us already knew that. Now we know he is a fool with no class.

In the grand scheme of things this is hardly a blip on the radar. There are worse things in the world to concern ourselves, like next week's fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Juan Manuel Marquez.

The autotuner made his career. If only someone could make one for his though processes.

West is such a no talent hack that I never bothered to waste time reviewing him before. The whole calling out Bush thing a while back didn't really bother me that much, stuff like that is what dumb musicians of his sort do when their "music" isn't enough to keep the spot light on them. But interupting Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech to say that Beyonce's video was better? Apparently this man has no class whatsoever.

I love Kanye West's music and he has made some good records. No denying that, but he seems to be ruining this with such petulant, idiotic, crazy behaviour.

When he made that outburst during that live hurricane katrina appeal I was happy that someone finally chose to be outspoken about something that was evident for all to see.

NOW? He just seems to be taking this to another level.

Just when I thought he couldn't be more extreme he embarresses himself yet again at the VMA awards. I'm no Tyalor Swift fan, but what he did to her was inexcusable. Kanye disgraced himself and this time I think people are not going to excuse his behaviour. He as an artist should have the common sense and decency to not take these "award shows" seriously.

If he's not careful and he continues to have these crazy outbursts this time next year he'll be asking people if they want fries with their order.

Is his hobby stepping on his dick? His latest flap is almost as idiotic as the Katrina thing, where Mike Myers had this "get me the hell out here" look goin' on. I guess money can't buy class, huh? Kanye, just come out and say it. You hate whitey...

With his "Touch the Sky" losing to Justice's and Simian's "We Are Your Friends" for Best Video at the MTV Europe Music Awards, Kanye 'I'm better than ANYONE!' West freaked out and crashed the stage during the Best Video award presentation, riddling the moment with a tirade of expletives and complaining that his video cost millions (and had Pamela Anderson in it) and that he deserved to win- all on live television. Nevermind the fact that he had already won for Best Rap Artist earlier in the program, but West (in all his shameful arrogance) told everyone that "If I don't win, the awards show loses credibility." Yeah. Right, Kanye. And if I listen to your public harangues and actually believe your claims of self-importance (ie: the greatest thing since sliced bread), I would lose credibility. Go back under the rock you came from, Kanye, you pathetic twit. You've contributed nothing positive, you living embodiment to stupid, senseless behavior. You are not only a sore loser, but a TOTAL LOSER. Get over yourself!

Original Comment (1/09/09): Whereas there maybe an argument for defending this guy's genius in songwriting, his self-proclaimed great talent as a singer (and performer) is nothing more than overblown hype (like he is). At the end, this obnoxious, self-aggrandizing fool doesn't live up to the overall talent he thinks he has (yet, sadly doesn't have).

If there are any analogies to compare this guy to, then Kanye would be a $30,000 paint job and chrome spinner hubcap wheels...on a mid-1990's Geo Metro.

Update (9/13/09): Just when this jerk couldn't get anymore obnoxious, he interrupted Taylor Swift's VMA best female music award acceptance speech by grabbing the microphone away from the shocked and tearful Swift, and then proceeded to say Beyonce had the best music video amidst the boos and catcalls. Props to Beyonce, though, for amending what this a--hole did by inviting Swift later on to finish her own acceptance award.

Aside from his lack of musical talent, it's just unbelievable how little class and dignity this self-important twit shows to the world on a regular basis. Just unbelievable!

I like his music. As far as his politics, I ain't sayin' he's a gold digger, but no question in my mind that his comments boosted his record sales. But then again, racism or incompetence, what does it really matter? The government failed the poor, primarily black residents of New Orleans. It pisses me off too. If you judge by urgency of action, Terri Schiavo was much more important to the GWB administration, than the residents of New Orleans... something stinks here, but unlike Kanye, I don't think it was racism - a bunch of poor white folks were left hanging on the Gulf Coast too. It must suck to be poor and politically unimportant.

After hearing him selfishly depth charge the relief effort telethon I could care less how well he sings, or raps, or whatever. The guy is obviously suffering from oppression psychosis. Kanye, seek help.

Wow, amazing singer, ever greater rapper. Every song he writes for artists is golden. I love this guy, he is the greatest.
