I have a 4 year old beagle name Lenny. Every day when I walk him he's sniffing out some sort of different animal. I believe beagles are the best hunting dog's hand's down. I have had 3 beagles all together in my life time. My beagle can sniff out a rabbit, squirrel, and or raccoon from at least a block away. He has done this on several occasions. When he finds them he has the heart of a lion and tries to fight them. Beagles should be #1 on the list of best hunting dog's for sure.

They will hold their own with any other breed, fight to the end, never give-up, and always get the game. There is no breed with so mich heart, so much BIG dog in a small package. Ours (13 in. female named LaVerne after my Grandma) will be 18 yrs in February...The Labrador and both Pitbulls, all adult males, move out of her way! She eats first, always! If she growls, the boys are in their crates before you can count them!
