 | zippygas (0) 03/21/2008 | you have to love the people who can't afford it and then say it's not good and give it one star.... it tastes the same to them as the cheap stuff because once you make it into a jello shot they can't tell the difference. Chopin is by far the best if you can afford it and if you can't afford it keep telling yourself it sucks that way you won't feel bad drinking your pruno you made in your prison toilet...

 | felixml (0) 01/02/2008 | Had a chance to compare in a proper, controlled test against Russian Imperial (burn and average taste for such an expensive vodka and Russian Standard excellent, all the way, 5 stars for sure. My second Russian vodka after Stoly's Elit I can easily rate 5 out of 5.) For some unknown reason clearly smelled alcohol - ethanol like very unpleasant odor. Have to lower my opinion just because this is NOT what the very top vodkas should be.

 | ronincse (0) 06/06/2007 | I'm not a professional taster by any means, but I really have to give props to this vodka. Before reading the reviews on here and deciding to try this I had always liked grey goose more than most of the others I have tried, but this really tops it. Very smooth and hardly any burn while going down with almost no aroma from a newly opened bottle. I don't think I will ever be able to go back to anything else after this. Oh and it's a Polish vodka, and since I'm Polish as well I gotta stay loyal :).

 | irishgit (135) 05/30/2007 | Very good, and one of the few potato vodkas (Almost every vodka on this list is made from grain, despite what it says in the list description.)
A touch expensive, but worth it if you like vodka (which is not my favorite ethanol)

| This is a decent vodka but loses a point because of the taste vs the price tag perhaps I don't like the potato enough. |

 | nickoftab (0) 03/02/2007 | Most vodka can be interchanged with paint thinner, but Chopin is real vodka. So smooth and at the right temperature, it goes down like water.

 | Mr645 (0) 11/30/2006 | Very smooth vodka. Great straight or mixed. Certainly better then any of the typical brands we see at bars.

 | delbomber (3) 03/13/2006 | I have had this several times, including a tasting in blind taste-test with 12 other vodkas...peat moss DOMINATES flavor profile and imparts a very unpleasant taste...smooth, sure, but for someone who drinks vodka straight, this should be avoided at all costs, especially at this price.

 | kvo (0) 02/02/2006 | So smooth!! My favorite vodka drink (a strong vodka tonic with a splash of Rose's lime juice) was perfect, with a clean finish. Straight, ahhh! Handily beat the Belvedere that I was comparing it to. (Same importer & similar bottle, not the same stuff inside!)

 | stephen123 (0) 11/24/2005 | I've been drinking vodka for many years and in 1994 I discovered Chopin vodka while returning from Poland. It was
sold on the LOT plane for $8 per .50 liter bottle. Upon returning home I compared it to Absolut, which at the time was the hot vodka on the market. Chopin was smoother and I've been comparing Chopin to other vodkas since then. It tastes better to me than anything, Grey Goose, Belverede, Ketel One, you name it.

 | sedmunds (0) 11/09/2005 | I love Chopin, too. I used to work in the spirits industry, and its commonly accepted that Chopin is the best vodka on the market. The potatoes make it creamy and very smooth. It's the only vodka I'd drink in a martini.

 | Fairbanks (0) 07/13/2005 | Did a comparison test against Spudka out of Hood River, OR. Pulled them both off the freezer shelf and let them warm up to just short of room temp. Different aromas, neither is unpleasant.
They both start out easy and ride nicely on the palate. Alas, the Spudka - I didn't truly expect any more - finishes with a burn, which while not unpleasant, was not reflected in the Chopin. The Chopin finished even more smoothly than it started with an ever so slight after-taste that left me wanting more.
Wonderful vodka.

 | Ion (0) 08/24/2004 | Smoother than Grey Goose. Maybe because it's from potato instead of grain? Highly recommend!
