I have heard negative comments "from the industry" about this wine before, most notably by a very stiff opinionated wine adviser at a Trader Joe's in Roseville Ca. (who tried to tell me I did not have a sophisticated palate if I liked KJ chardonnay. I told him that I like the 2007 vintage of KJ chard very much, and COULDNT CARE LESS what industry insiders think! I didnt care for the 2006 all that much. At least I know what I like.

I'm not trying to be critical of anyone's particular taste, but Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay is an insult to real chardonnay. I work in the industry and I can tell you that the large majority of those in the business don't like this wine. It is designed for the masses to be a crowd pleaser by blending the chardonnay with a small amount of muscato to give it that slightly sweet appealing taste. Even though the lable on the back says 100% chardonnay, don't believe it. It's not illegal for them to say so, so they get away with it. Try some better quality chardonnay's in the same price range such as Benziger, Little Black Dress, Bogle, Hahn Estates or Hahn's lower tier label Cycles Gladiator. These wines are all of quite good quality for the price.

Usually if I order white wine in a restaurant I order KJ. Medium priced and a great choice if you like dry whites.

Best wine I've ever had. Previously, my favorite was a blush wine but, after one taste of this wine, I now drink nothing else.

Kendall Jackson is a good basic American wine. It has the traditional oak and vanilla flavors typical to American Chardonnays.
