Wow! This would have been the light-heavyweight fight of the millenium had it taken place. But there are facts to consider when contemplating an Archie Moore vs. Roy Jones contest, one of which has to do with styles. Jones was always at his best with fighters who came straight at him as compared to fighters who were unorthodox. Aside from Moore's 'peek-a-boo' style of defense, Jones would have utilized his speed to counter the forward-moving Old Mongoose. Jones also had considerably more speed and arguably more power at 175 lbs. Given that, Moore was a reknown workhorse who would have tired out Jones. Also, Moore had the ability to adjust his style to fit the fight. In all, I see a fight too close to call. But if heart does matter, I see Moore winning a close but unanimous decision.
