I was birn there, and I love it so much! You can find beautiful spots out of beaten tourist track, where you can enjoy magnificant views of the hills and river. City is built in harmony with nature, and the latest modern development could not damage its friendly and calm spirit of "Mother of Russian Cities".

Kiev is a wonderful city. From the cave monastaries to the St. Sophia's, there is always something to do here. And everything is dirt cheap. You could have a feast fit for a king for $10 dollars. Come here before it gets all touristy.

Petersburg is a young city, Moscow is ancient, but Kyiv is eternal city. It is a Northern Rome. Honoré de Balzac UNESCO valued Kyiv's Saint-Sophia Cathedral and Related Monastic Buildings, Kiev-Pechersk Lavra as world heritage in 1990
