Founded as far back as 15AD by a Roman Settlement, The city of Ljubljana was granted its town charter in 1220. Located between the Alps and the Mediterranean Sea, Ljubljana is the capital city of Slovenia. Ljubljana has a population of 266,000 residents and was the capital city of the soviet-controlled Yugoslav, until Slovenia gained its independence in 1991. Major tourist attractions include Ljubljana castle and Stolnica cathedral. (Add picture)

Probably one of the nicest and most beautiful capitals in Europe. Not all that much to do when it comes to entertainment and so, but the people are great and there are many nice places along the river.

The old city is great while beyond is still catching up. The people, I found, were helpful and warm.

Nice town without big city hustle and bustle but a high quqlity of life.
