 | sschroed (0) 07/09/2007 | Behind the times when it was built, and a poor substitute for the original. Never sit in the upper level if you can avoid it.

 | oscargamblesfro (76) 06/13/2007 | It seems ok, kind of an ordinary park. An improvement over the old Comiskey for sure. I don't know what it was exactly, but the Old Comiskey had a colorless, gray, grave kind of feel- it almost seemed more like a mausoleum or a tomb. The White Sox for a long time had the oldest park and are of course the first/ oldest team in the AL.
Maybe it's bad vibes from being named after such a cheap scoundrel?

 | GenghisTheHun (168) 03/07/2007 | This is definitely a disappointment. It's in a bad part of town and it doesn't match up to the older stadium. I thought the seats were too steep.
The food is still good and has a better assortment than almost any other baseball venue.

 | tiggerandcogs (0) 08/03/2006 | a great experience if you want to risk life and limb on the south side of Chicago during a night game. They used to shoot at the stadium from the nearby projects although only a few of the buildings are still standing.

 | CinciHound23 (0) 04/15/2006 | Great sightlines, great food, great team, good parking, and fans who know baseball. Don't let the 'bad neighbordhood rap' fool you, never had a problem around there, and crime stats show much more crime (including a recent murder) around Wrigley. The upper deck is a nice seat, especially the first couple of rows, though I don't reccomend higher if you're afraid of heights.

 | Fornicate69 (0) 10/01/2005 | Are you guys nuts rating this park this high.Bad seating, bad neighborhood and terrible product to watch.Dont you know there is a real park on the north side with real fans. Not ones who show because they are winning.Where was every one last year when they sucked.Oh yeah they were at wrigley.

 | schillo (0) 06/21/2005 | it is an OK park they just have a big stadium but not many people go i like the way everything in the outfield in center is set up but it isnt what i expected

 | ferndalescotty (0) 04/14/2005 | I heard absolutely nothing good about this park before I went. I liked it. I had good seats behind third base. My Tigers won and it was a great July day. Only thing I didn't like was you can't see the game from the concourses.

 | Alexg681 (1) 02/04/2005 | I'm very disappointed with this stadium. This new Comiskey Park looks very much like the old Comiskey Park which really needed to go, but this one is not much of an improvement.

 | jmerfj (0) 02/04/2005 | Mediocre at best! No personality. The fact that Comiskey is rated above Wrigley proves that this website is full of morons! (No, I'm not from Chicago and I dislike both the Cubs and the Sox)

 | JRF29201 (0) 12/18/2004 | Former Comiskey (that's ridiculous to change that historic name) was built just before the new rennaissance of new baseball parks and it didn't really fit in. It's loaded with sky boxes as usual, but it's upper deck is is so high you have to watch for planes coming into Midway. Also across the expressway is the very dangerous public housing area of Chicago. Area on the west end of freeway is nicer, but not much room between the two.

 | GuerillaX8 (0) 06/29/2004 | this one time my buddy got stabbed walking across the street to comiskey. it was probably the hardcorest thing ever. the thing is, it was a cub fan who stabbed him. my buddy, took the knife out of his atery and proceeded to gut the cub fan, cuz thats just how incredibly real sox fans and comiskey park is.

 | sld31879 (0) 06/27/2004 | In itself nothing to write home to mom about, not that good not actively terrible either. However, the fans are generally nice (unless you're wearing a Cubs shirt) and unlike the folks at Wrigley they could tell you what RBI and ERA stand for and they actually know the players names; the food's good; the bathrooms are adequate; and since it's a block off an El and has good parking there's no reason to walk through the mean old neighborhood that so terrifies the Northsiders so. I don't mind the corporate name, anything beats Comiskey and if you wonder why just rent Eight Men Out sometime.

 | stadiumvisitor (0) 05/16/2004 | Awful, looks like old Veteran's Stadium with a view. . . of an apartment building. Upper level amenities are terrible, and the lower level isn't even accessible to upper level ticket holders.

 | TaalJazz1 (0) 03/30/2004 | Ahem, US Cellular Field (HA) has lots of worsts, but first and foremost is the ugly corponame that just devalues sports to the nth degree and brings all of our IQ's to a new low. Worst upper deck in baseball, seemingly everything is sponsored by some faceless corporation to a ridiculous degree, ugly people (the South Side is GHETTO), along with the worst and most apathetic fans. Don't worry about them, though...they just don't show up, even when the Sux are in the hunt or the team is running their get a free ticket for turning in a Pepsi can night, I guess the project dweller blaggards can't afford even THAT! Old Comiskey was way way better. A little-known secret about Sux fans is they hate the Cubs more than they actually like the Sux. South.Side.SUX!!!

 | plof76 (0) 01/29/2004 | I'm a Sox fan, and I admit it is not the best park. But unfortunately due to unfair media bias towards America's loveable losers, Comiskey gets a bad rap. Ten years ago it was not the most eye pleasing park out there. But after a few renovations, this park ranks right up there with the modern ballparks. They get knocked for not having alot of fans show up, but the team hasn't exactly given fans a reason to show up. Great food, fan friendly, overall spacious (even with alot of fans there), a great place to watch a baseball game, unlike that shrine on the northside.

 | Frater Perdurabo (0) 01/29/2004 | The perfect baseball stadium for the perfect team.
Wide concourses, great food options and easy access to both highways and public transit make U.S. Cellular Field a true gem.
All seats are comfortable and the sight lines are excellent. There are no obstructed seats.
Renovations are underway to make the upper deck smaller and more cozy, which will make this stadium an even better place to watch the White Sox.

 | rdivaldi (0) 01/29/2004 | The best place in Chicago to watch a ballgame. Excellent amenities, great food, outstanding sightlines, ample parking, and just an overall good place to bring your family. With the new renovations to the ballpark, there are basically no flaws left from the original design.
The drawbacks are not baseball related, as there are still very few places to congreagate after the game. The slums nearby the ballpark have been all torn down, so the old stigma of US Cellular Field being in a dangerous neighborhood is now just hype.

 | soxfankate (0) 01/29/2004 | It's not the old Comiskey Park, but it's cleaner and more-fan friendly (you can see the game from any seat in the house). The rennovations (i.e. the fan deck in center) are nice additions. I especially dig the scoreboard. Great food, fun atmosphere...all in all, a great place to cheer on the Sox.

 | TGFWASP (0) 09/10/2003 | Made more livable recently, but the only reason the (much superior- and YES I have been to both) original was torn down was pure stadium blackmail. What the taxpayers got looks like a Walmart from the outside and a monument to Luxury Suites inside.

 | hendo (0) 07/17/2003 | It's not as bad as some people think. The outfield concourse is nice and the food is excellent. It could be a lot better, though. It's a shame that Reinsdorf didn't try to incorporate it more into the historic Bridgeport neighborhood a few blocks to the West...hopefully they'll finish pulling down the rest of the housing projects to the East that give this area such a bad reputation.
Also, i'm anxious to see what improvements will be made with the money from the U.S. Cellular deal.

 | beop (0) 06/14/2003 | Went to the old Comiskey once.It was empty. New one is empty too.Reinsdorf shoulda moved the Sox to Florida when he had the chance.

 | MJSThirty6 (0) 07/11/2001 | A yuppie friendly ballpark. Plenty of skyboxes and necktie required sportsbars leaving the average fan sitting in the upper tier seats scraping the sky. The bleacher seats offer a better view than the upper tier seats and for a lower price. I loved the old park but knew it had to go due to neglect from previous owners but I did not like the way the current owners went about getting a new one built by threatening to move the team to Florida. New park also reminds me of a shopping mall, many fans just walk around the park and not watch the game.

 | Oppy187 (0) 06/04/2001 | A 3 deck, foul pole to foul pole design (yawn). Why did they move the fences in also? First row of upper deck is farther from field than last row of upper deck at old Comiskey, course it doesn't matter because there is nobody ever up there. Why would anyone go there when they could go to Wrigley across town.

 | walrus_43 (0) 12/13/2000 | Comiskey is very under-rated. It is a great ballpark cause it is different than the brick ballparks that have sharp angles. One of the best looking ballparks in baseball.

 | starbucks_junkie (0) 09/25/2000 | Comiskey Park is a horrible stadium, the upper deck seats are way too high. It's too sterile, empty, and definitely can't compare to the Old Comiskey park.

 | enzo8791et (0) 07/19/2000 | They tried to fit all of Chicago in here ... Its cavernous. When everybody else wants to bring you closer to the field they send you 20 yards back

 | bizdude (0) 06/02/2000 | The worst I've been to. Very generic, no atmospere, terrible service at concession stands(even though the crowd was sparse), the "fans" were more into the moronic scoreboard races than the game. Two pluses, plenty of parking and always a lot of room.
Quite simply, this place blows.

 | frig5754om (0) 04/16/2000 | I'm not sure why so many people hate this park, but love a place like Yankee Stadium. So it's lacking some bells and whistles and faux history. Not a Top Ten big league ballpark, but there are much worse places to see a game.
