Geneva is the 2nd most populous city in Switzerland with an estimated population of 186.000 residents. Geneva is located where Lake Geneva meets the Rhone River. In the 16th century Geneva was home to Calvinism with St. Peter’s Church acting as John Calvin’s own church. Geneva was the site of the 4 Geneva Conventions held between 1864-1949, and is home to several international organizations, including the International Committee of the Red Cross. Jet d’Eau, a massive water fountain, is a major landmark in Geneva.
