I'd like this, at least in the model of Spade, Marlowe, Harper, Gittes, etc.

Get to drink, get the girl some of the time, make wisecracks, and get beat up at least once a movie.

This would be pretty cool, but for some reason I always imgaine private eyes as men with well fitting suits and trenchcoats even if it's not raining. But it would be pretty cool to solve crimes, especially if I solved them all.
