I like Facebook, just wish I could customize the look and feel of it more.

If only the core features of the website were at play, I'd give 4 or 5 stars easily. It's great at what it is when everything else is stripped away - finding people you've lost touch with and keeping up with people & things you care about. The simple layout & background is a dream, too - especially compared to some Myspace profiles out there. But I feel like Facebook is becoming the one-stop shop for everything. I'm not a good multi-tasker, I guess - I like to keep my IM's on IM programs, my e-mails within my e-mail. Not within Facebook's messaging and 'chat windows.' I love games, quizzes & any ol' random app that leads to procrastination... and some of the ones on Facebook are nifty. Still, I like my usual game sites or personality test sites & would rather use those, knowing that every level I pass won't be cluttering my profile or a friends profile on Facebook.I also wish they would further improve their privacy settings, give further control, more specific options and present it all in a clearer way than it stands now. & It seems scary how many websites now keep pushing the "connect to Facebook!" deal. There's just certain movies & tv shows on my Netflix queue and ratings that I just *really, really* would not want all my co-workers, friends and family being alerted of...Or maybe I just knocked off a couple stars do to my own experiences. I've since learned that surfing profiles on Facebook after taking your Ambien always ends badly. Or maybe I'm just bitter over losing games of their version of Scrabble with my exes. Or maybe the world seems so in love with Facebook that I need to think of excuses for my apathy. Yep, that might be it... (I'm serious about Facebook & Ambien not mixing, though!)

Really love it however not fond of how plain it looks.

A great place to go to discard your surplus personal time. I've actually used it for about a year and have developed a fairly robust network of contacts comprised of family, friends and associates. I have made contact with a few friends who long ago moved far away and I figured I'd never hear from again. But the renewed friendship is entirely a virtual connection via Facebook, not a real live "get together and have a good time" kind of experience.I've used it mainly to communicate with friends and family about current issues of common interest and made social plans. I've also shared some jokes, pictures, information and news. I don't know that I was lacking for a means to do any of this stuff before, and I don't know that I am doing it any more effectively now. But its what people are using to talk to one another now, so its where you go to talk. Not using it would be like refusing to get a phone in 1949.I wince when I look at my Home page and see all of the people I know who are playing Farmville, Mafia Wars and collecting some kind of eggs.

Best this heavenly social networking ever in my life, plus facebook's chat experience with my family/friends is works so wonderful unlike AIM fails me to do with that, I added a rate 1 more star rating to 5/5. But if I want to chat anytime, but others would be not logged on or while on the moon status may not chat with others so I have to send a message (inbox) for offline.

I am a private person, therefore I find facebook a bit intrusive. I do like the overall idea of the site and if you are an extrovert, it is a great tool. Unfortunately, facebook can have a lot of downfalls from what I have read.

I'm fine with Myspace I dont need this crap too

I have had a facebook for about 3 years now. I liked it before when it was only open to college students. The site has now blown up into something huge that is kind of like an unstoppable force. I just don't like the fact that there is SO much personal information packed into facebook's databases. I also don't like the fact that it is impossible to permanently delete a facebook account. This would mean all the wall posts, messages, photos etc, would have to be deleted one by one in order to eliminate oneself from the site altogether. A friend of mine wasn't allowed access to a photo of himself because of someone's "privacy settings" ha... I guess its useful and safe if you decide to keep personal info about yourself at a minimum, and only use the site when needed.

Again, I'm not an attention whore...I really like my privacy!

Facebook is full of queers, but it has its merits, it serves as a meeting point for some folks I know via online forum browsing in the event of a DOS attack or some other issue standing in the way of forum participation.

Same as MySpace, waste of time.

Facebook is good. It's easy to use. Instead of having to send each of my friends and family pictures, I can give them direct links to separate photo albums. I can upload 100 pictures easily in just a few minutes, by selecting "upload all." Best of all - I can choose who sees what in there. You can create any restrictions you want absolutely customized. And you can even block certain people from seeing your profile. Unknown random people can't see or add you as a friend - if you choose to make it that way. So it's good on privacy. There's absolutely no spam (or at least I never got any in the 5 years I've used it.)There are numerous applications which can get annoying. But I find them to be more fun than frustrating.

ADDICTING. IT'S RUINING MY LIFE BUT IT'S SO AWESOME!

the only reason why I opened facebook was because someone sent me an invite and to not look rude I accepted it, I didn't like it b/c frankly I didn't understand it and I already had hi-5 and loved how I could personalize it. However I ran into some issues with it b/c people eho I didn;t want to look at my profile were commenting on it and sending me hatred emails, for that reason only I had to shut down my hi-5 and decided to keep facebook, like I said, not impressed but I happened to find out all the ways you can personlizing exactly what you want who to see..., a year and a half later I love it, I cannot go into the internet without having to see what's new on my page and I've managed to reconnect with a lot of people that I haven't contacted in years, also it's very innovative with the applications and fun things on there. I love it and recommend it to everyone, it just might be a little difficult to understand everything at first but after a couple days you'll get the hang of it

The one TRUE social networking service that connects you back with people from High School, University, The Military, Former/Current Jobs, Fraternities, Social/Professional Organizations and connecting people who have other sports, hobbies, past-times and intellectual interests that truly proves how interdependent everyone on this planet is.
jew4tee 11/06/2009
Its ok, now that everyone and there grandmother got on board. Its an extremely convenient way of keeping in touch with people who you actually don't give a shit about
TheBigIslandCh ick 10/23/2009
Good to keep trackof friends, not relly big on facebook though. If I had to choose between facebook and myspace I would choose myspace because of the things it has to offer.
Sharon_206 10/22/2009
facebook is okay . it is annoying in some ways . the main reason I deleted my facebookaccount is b/c it was always wanting me to " verify " my acct . & the only way you could do it was to let them send a text message to your cell phone ( which I do not have b/c I'mnot working & can't afford )
barkerdaddy 10/08/2009
I belong to facebook, there is so much to keep you busy and Ihave met a lot of good friends there.

Though Facebook has a large potential as a time-sucker (and -waster), it's a great way to stay in touch with friends and family. Streamlined in style, you won't have as much customization here, but that makes it easier to browse.
Allyartiste 09/27/2009
I love facebook! It's a addicting and fun and there's so much to do, it's also safe and a great way to keep in touch with friends and family.

Awesome. One need to know how you can gather knowledge, market product and create professional circle using facebook.com. It also have good security.
Obies 09/08/2009
Again anything you put online is going to be able to be seen for virtually forever, you really just can't take it back. So be careful. I also know that facebook is now in the mist of many lawsuits over privacy laws, there are being accused of sharing you personal information.
Bubbliscious 09/07/2009
This sucks! SOme people have too much time on their hands!
Ingersoll 09/07/2009
Of Course!
zorohem 09/02/2009
Same opinion as Myspace...anyone can find you? And the only thing standing between you and however knows your name is a little password? Come on lets be real about this...why would I put all my private information on the internet for my "friends" and their "friends" to see, just so we can stay close...no matter how you cut it, it's just stupid.
fitman 08/24/2009
A couple of years ago, I opened a Facebook account and wasn't impressed, so I put a link to my MySpace page on my Facebook page.
estarski 08/23/2009
I started Facebook when it was available to people with a college email only. Since then it has grown significantly and I do prefer it over Myspace because of the customization and availability of networking tools. However, I've noticed more people use Myspace.
Lady_8 08/21/2009
I personally use them. It is a great place to expand your warm marketing prospects.
The3rdRight 08/16/2009
I appreciate Wiseguy great review, however, FaceBook is has many distractions, and expose your privacy in many ways, they have many error's and to much garbage to send to others, like dumb farm animals lol.
Wiseguy 08/16/2009
I have met up with some old friends. Facebook gets a good rating for that alone.
Margarite McCain 08/16/2009

Another great place to wreck your career, marriage, and social life. You don't need 15 minutes of "shame," do you? Really?
GenghisTheHun 08/06/2009
I joined up and I like the site especially since it can be integrated with RIA. It is run by a politburo of politically correct lefto mopes, however.

autumnyaar 07/24/2009
Used to be a great website to catch up with people and keep up to date easily, but with the new changes they are making it is not so fun anymore. You can't delete your account no matter what since your information remains with them, and they own everything you upload there and they can use it any way they wish. So those pictures of yours are being viewed by who knows how many random people that they want to sell our information too. Made me a little nervous about using my facebook for anything anymore. :[

Its a good way to keep in touch. I interested in why it seems as though facebook contains a different culture of people or how the same people present themselves on fb compared to myspace....?
