When I first started MySpace I really enjoyed connecting with people, I even made some life long friends, however recently with the invent of applications and other things I find that myspace has deteriorated to the place I go to if I want to find new bands

MySpace is great! I like the new features they're starting to put in, like the IM and the new Mail. It's pretty cool because I can have people email me, and it'll go to my MySpace account! I personally check my MySpace more than my millions of email accounts (some of them are dead I think), so it's pretty convenient to me.

Myspace was cool like four years ago, before social networking found its niche in Facebook. Myspace now has really become just one big giant advertising site. The only people who go on are in highschool, or trying to sell you crap.
biman7777 11/01/2009
Its a great place to hang out. I have many friends here.
TheBigIslandCh ick 10/23/2009
Myspace is fun and you can keep in touch with a lot of old friends and other people. But after a while it may get a little boring if you're not completely obsessed with it already ;) and sometimes you forget to check your myspace messages and comments for months at a time because you have other better things to do...
barkerdaddy 10/08/2009
Its ok,more for the younger set but is popular.
Maryjane_701 10/03/2009
yes i think so
howlingforever 10/02/2009
It's pretty much the worst social networking site ever. All the people on it are idiotic and the layouts will blind you. Stick with Facebook, it's simpler and way better.
simplyla 09/28/2009
I dislike MySpace largely for its asthetics: I hate browsing or especially using sites which look messy and unorganized.
Allyartiste 09/27/2009
I don't have one but my friend says its stupid. And it aannoys me.
avonladymellis a 09/25/2009
It's a popularity contest.
Chalky 09/17/2009
I think what saves myspace from getting the 1 star rating is that a lot of musicians/bands use them as an official site. Other than that, sites like myspace and facebook are a Pandora's Box, which I wouldn't open if you paid me to. I recently spoke w/someone I hadn't in a while, and she said, hey, I tried to look you up on facebook. I basically said facebook is too cool for me.
DeviantNic 09/16/2009
Myspace is so 2007. It's like a ghost town over there now. Everyone has packed up and moved to Facebook, many reluctantly. One day everyone woke up, logged into Myspace and realized not one person had sent them a "Have A Happy Hump Day!!" comment, their friends' moods hadn't been updated in over 24 hours, and there was a faint sound of crickets coming from the activity feed. This is when the average Myspace user realized the only way to keep in touch with friends is via Twitter and Facebook. Myspace was a flash in the pan and now society is on to other ways to annoy your friends. It was a great place while it lasted, though. In it's hey-day I would've rated it 4-5 stars...today, due to the fact that no one is using it anymore, I give it a generous 2 stars. Myspace is a lot like skinny jeans on men. It was sexy and cool back in 1982, but today...notsomuch.
aceline 09/14/2009
yes I do use myspace

I am still very reserved about these types of online share blogs. We need to remeber than anything we ever put on the internet is basiclly there forever, so just be careful.

Apparently I cannot give a current review. I tried and nothing happened. I am once again attempting to do so, hoping this time it will "take." I have an entirely different opinion of MySpace than I did a few years ago. I want to change my rating. First of all, since my first review, they have improved their site considerably in my opinion. I found a background that worked for me; I can easily edit and add new stuff on my personals page whenever I feel like it; I can have virtually unlimited personal blogs; and I can have virtually unlimited photos added to my photo albums, and right now I have several hundred. I can access others' pages; listen to music on others MySpace pages; email people, etc. I think they're great. And these days I no longer have anywhere near as many "friends" request from sexy-looking females that are unsolicited and unwanted as I did back then. MySpace are apparently monitoring their site more closely now. I am an older guy and not looking for dates so am not concerned about pedophiles myself anyway. My sister originally turned me on to MySpace and she too is pleased with the content, photos, etc. she is allowed. Who needs Facebook? MySpace rules. Thanks for a good, and FREE, site that lets you create virtually unlimited content with practically no problems at all these days.
zorohem 09/02/2009
Yes...that's right...put your entire life and personal feelings on the internet where anyone with half a brain can hack into it...I'm sorry, I can't remember, how many people have died or been raped from being found on this site now?
raytracer 08/17/2009
and pedophiles love it too!
dadaas 08/16/2009
I like it, im member of it for years, its maybe better than facebook.
Margarite McCain 08/16/2009
MySpace was cool when nothing else was around. No it's not cool and only in existence because of the multi-millions of people that visit their pages once every couple of months.
Merlinn122 08/13/2009
If you say so
danesmom 08/10/2009

Broodinghen 08/10/2009
When I joined MySpace I was so pleased by it that it would have got 5 stars. Meanwhile it has been fraught with ever new features and become slow. Some friends I liked a lot disappeared from it or prefer similar sites. And I came to prefer RIA. I'm still on MySpace for the sake of some people who became quite dear to me in the course of time. If it weren't for them MySpace would be history to me.
fitman 08/06/2009
MySpace does have some bugs ("an unexpected error has occurred"), but it's a free website that's well worth the price!

I had been toying with the idea of setting up a MySpace page for a couple of years and decided to give it a go along with Twitter after going through one hell of a period from 9-02-08 thru 4-25-09 when my old man died and my mother was operated on for cancer and arterial blockage in both legs (she's 90, diabetic, and blind. I, for the most, part take care of her), along with a host of minor shitstorms. For some reason, I felt the need to see what the fuss was all about and to get a little more outside exposure. Suffice it to say that I was less than impressed. Weeding out the annoying from the insane was almost a full time job (Twitter was worse, what with the hookers and continual bombardment by "Have you tried this product, or how to amass 2 million friends (or whatever they're called) by using this (link to bullshit).Granted I'm new to the online social networking scene though hardly new to the net/web and I may have expected too much from it, but given my experience, it's unlikely, though not a given, that I'll return.I'm sure many have had a positive experience on both sites, but for me, right now, I think I'll look elsewhere.

They have CRAPPY customer service. They don't really even pay attention to what you're asking them to do when you email them. They don't have an 800 number. I have emailed myspace a total of 6 times, the first being a request for help updating my email so I could delete my profile, which they ignored; the second time was with a "salute" per their guidelines so they would delete the profile; the third was another request to delete the profile but following a different set of delete instructions they'd posted on their website telling me to remove all content, send a link to them of my profile, and putting "remove profile" in the about me section; the fourth was a repeat of the third; the fifth email was a "what do I have to freaking do before you'll remove this profile, I've already deleted everything and put in "remove profile"?"; the 6th was a repeat of the fifth. THESE PEOPLE ARE RETARDS. They didn't pay any attention at all to the problems that I was having with their site, and then now that I'm trying to delete my profile, they are STILL ignoring me.

I am a published songwriter who created a MySpace page about 4 years ago. I write both lyrics and music, all material is copyrighted, so there is no question that I own all rights to my music. Over the years I established connections within the music industry all over the world (over 17K friends!) and used my MS page as my main website for those connections. I was a VERY active participant in the MS family and was a great example of how networking can be highly effective and rewarding.A couple of weeks ago, I went to my site, only to discover that the MS staff had deleted it! I have sent countless e-mails to MS (they do not provide customer service phone numbers - you're totally depended on using their contact info on their site), asking why they deleted my page, but to date they have failed to respond. Please be advised that in their terms of agreement they specify that they can delete any page at any time for any reason or for NO REASON, which is why I'm assuming they see no reason to offer me an explanation. I think it's a terrible business model to somehow believe it's okay to arbitrarily delete people's pages, and this particularly philosophy certainly is counterproductive to their mission of providing people with networking opportunities. I can say without hesitation that I have upheld all the terms of agreement for joining MS. I do not use profanity, I am respectful of others, and am highly professional in all my dealings. Why MS would opt to delete my page (bear in mind I'm over 60 years old) is beyond me, but it does speak volumes about their integrity. If you opt to participate in MS, you should do so knowing that the staff can (and obvious DO) delete your page without cause, so I would advise against spending much time creating your site or building up a "friends" base. Once MS deletes your site, you lose all those connections. So BUYER BEWARE!

Turning more into a music site then "friends" site. I get requests for friends from musical groups from all round the country and world. I like it for that since I get to hear so many different kinds of music, but I don't think that's what Myspace started out to be, but it's not all that bad either.
lma3113 06/21/2009
I used to like myspace and then facebook emerges with its much more mature attitude. I feel that myspace for too commercial for its own good. I know that we can't escape that, but as it became more commercial the more phishing attacks hapened. I do like the fact that you can personalize your profile pages, but also realize that 90% of the members don't know how to use HTML code, so you get a big mess of HTML and blinking words! The music aspect of myspace is a plus, but now I don't even have to login to listen to a profile page so I can do it without an account. I think myspace got pretty trashy, and I avoid at all cost.

I had an account at myspace and someone was able to log-in in it and posted his picture and his favorite music collection. I had reported it and I was instructed to follow their guide in using a new password but after a week or so, I was no longer able to log-in there. I can't access my account and I lost tract of my posted articles there.
mrskelramir 06/01/2009
Myspace is a great place to keepin touch and connect. The down side is there are way to many people on here that are wayyyy to young or adults that have no business talking to children underage.
