 | CanadaSucks (50) 02/24/2007 | A wonderful moment on paper- but look at the date. . .this was, for years, as effective (sarcasm, sarcasm) as any UN resolution that promised a lot but delivered little. . . remember kids, freedom and civil rights was something the people forced on the government- not something that the government forced on the people. . .

 | JayPeriod (5) 02/24/2007 | Like the abolition of slavery, this amendment did more to bring our country together, in the long run. It also helped us be a leader in human rights. Others have followed our lead.

 | LanceRoxas (41) 06/10/2005 | Hmmmm? If the 14th Amendment is the vehicle through which liberals claim rights to abortion, sodomy and pornography are protected as fundamental why did the Framers of this Amendment find it necessary if voting was a fundamental right guaranteed by the 14th? Oh!!! Stop it with the semantics Lance, liberals really couldn't care less about the constitution save for its occasional ability to give cover to their nefarious agenda from time to time.

 | EschewObfuscation (71) 04/22/2005 | After the 13th Amendment was ratified, poor blacks were still kept from voting through various intimidation tactics. This amendment clarified their status.
