They will stick you with fees every chance they get. If you overdraw your account the fee will disturb purchases that have already been 'held' and they will pull those transactions through biggest to smallest. They also charge fees for 'returned mail' and will take overdraft fees on top of that as well.

FirstMerit Bank might have good customer service sometimes, but I would not recommend this bank to anyone. I was charged over $200 in overdraft fees over a pending transaction that came out of my account the next day! My account was never negative--beware of those pending transactions! Worst of all, the District Manager tried to solve my problem by pointing out that they CAN CHARGE FEES ON PENDING TRANSACTIONS according to the fine print I signed when I opened my account.
