Valencia Cyclery 5

I bought a bike pump from them last week. Finally got around to using it last night and it was defective. I called them first thing this morning and they told me to bring it in. I was worried that since I threw out the receipt that I was going to be SOL. I did still have the tag with their price tag on it.

When I got to the store they told me, "oh that pump, it's got issues". I looked and didn't see that same model on the floor for sale. They had removed all of that type of pump. They then told me to pick out another one. I chose one for the same price and they didn't even make me wait around to do an exchange.

This was quite a pleasant experience and I wanted to share with the world (or at least everyone in San Francisco). I've had work done on my bike with these guys too and I've got nothing but good to say about them.

**Original Review**
Super friendly and accommodating staff. It was really helpful for me since I haven't actually bought a bike in a long time and I needed to be brought up to speed pretty quickly (over lunch hour :P), since city-riding is also relatively new for me. They will install components for you and suggest only bikes and accessories that fit your needs rather than going for a higher price point. They offer 10% off all accessories for 3 months with the purchase of a bike and offer free service during that time period also. I'm sure if I shopped around online and at mass retailers i could gt a slightly better deal, but their prices were extremely competitive and the selection was amazing. Convenience is a real factor in the city, so to be able to ride it off the lot, so to speak, is worth an extra $10-$20 for me. They have a location 2 doors down that is their repair shop. Overall a great experience, I can't wait to ride my bike home tonight!

**Update**
Don't worry these guys are still awesome. They just happen to be more awesome, and worthy of an update. So, I went back over the weekend because I was having some trouble locking my bike with the mini-U that one of the clerks originally sold me with the bike. Long story short, the seat on my bike prevents it from getting that close to the meter, and as a result I was unable to lock through the tire with a lock that short, just could manage getting the frame locked up with some struggle. Anyhow, not only did they offered to change it for free for a longer lock (completely unexpected), but they swapped the u out for my old one so I could keep the same key. Additionally, when I went to put the lock back together, the clerk noticed that it was sorta tough to do, and he offered to cut back some of the plastic sealing to make it a lot easier.

Suffice to say, these guys are super knowledgeable and openly helpful to people of all skill levels :)
