Close your eyes and imagine heaven on earth. Got it pictured? Well, open up because not only is it real, it’s in Montana.Welcome to Glacier National Park! Heralded as “America’s Little Switzerland”, Glacier National Park sits high in mountainous tranquility in the northwest corner of Montana. While is a little out of the way for most—there is no major airport anywhere close—but it reminds those who dare to adventure through America’s back country why early settlers couldn’t help but pack up and go west. There is nothing that can compare with tiptoeing on the edge of a monstrous cliff and flowing smoothly down mountain roads that leave nothing to the imagination. After you drive the Going-to-the-Sun Road, you might want to send a postcard back home to let everyone know that not only did you find the end of the rainbow, but you’ve got the pictures to prove there’s something better than a pot of gold. The Trail of Cedars is absolutely breathtaking but should be taken early morning or evening since it is one of the very few handicap accessible trails in the park. Seriously, go.
