I recently took my first trip to Cape Cod with my family, and it was a great trip. The area definitely has a lot of character, and there are some beautiful beaches throughout the Cape. For an East Coast destination there is a nice middle-America type of vibe. There are plenty of places to eat, and most are family owned type of businesses rather than the usual chains. Provincetown was a cool town to visit, although the nearly naked young men advertising for "Nude Boys Singing," wasn't quite family friendly. However, the whale watching trip from there was well worth it. Cape Cod National Seashore has several areas to visit, and the beaches there are absolutely beautiful. There are also plenty of bike paths throughout the area, which I think is a great activity for families.

Cape Cod is a great place for a relaxing family vacation. You can sit on the beach, shop and eat some good lobster dinners. There is plenty to do for children and adults. Very nice place to visit in the summer since it doesn't get disgustingly hot.

Cape Cod is awsome...just learn how to drive around a rotary before you come here, PLEASE. The beaches on the lower cape and south side (Nantucket Sound) are better than the beaches on the bay. The best part of Hyannis is probably Main Street and the Harbor...there are other parts of Hyannis that are pretty ghetto. Don't stay on Iyannough Road or Route 28 in Hyannis unless you want a view of IHOP and Filene's Basement...stay somewhere closer to the beach. And again, make sure you know how to drive around rotaries...

Cape Cod is amazing - from the weirdness of Provincetown to the locals only feel of Buzzards Bay, Cap Cod has some serious character. My favorite beach is Welfleet, located about 3/4 of the way down the cape - about 20 minutes from provincetown. The thing that stands out about this beach are the huge dunes. While it can be a pain to trudge up after a long day in the sun, it sure is fun to roll down. There is also a cool little bar called the Beachcomber there that gets some pretty good live music. Let's hope that the Cape is able to preserve its undeveloped feel...

Cape Cod is great, just stay away from Hyannis if you dont' want touristy trappings and lots of traffic.
