While NYC has a lot to offer make sure you plan it all out. This city is so big that you might become exhausted and the kids might start to complain. This is not a city you can just go to on a whim and try to vacation. I am into urban vacations, but if you want peace and quiet avoid at all cost.

Living in New England and Visiting it States I have only One Label for the whole area "AN UGLY SHIT WHOLE"

New York does have its one of a kind things, but it is so crowded and so expensive. Why go to New York when you can go to Amarillo instead?

New York City.. a family destination??? I'd wait until they are at least teenagers.

My family loves going to NYC for vacations. rodeodo and everyone else who says that your family will get mugged and raped and all that crap is just stereotyping. If NYC is such a crapy place and there is so much crime, then why do its 8 million and counting residents walk on the streets all the time without a second thought, not because they are used to the crime, because there isnt that much, not a fraction of as much as people say. now that the statue of liberty is open again, that is a great place to take your family, and of course, ellis island, you can actually find the names of your ancestors! i thought that was really great, some may not but whatever. Pretty much everyone you see on the streets in new york will give you directions if you get lost, that stuff about the people being rude is complete BS. I love visiting NYC, and once i move back to Upstate NY, i will be able to go there much more often, can't wait!

Oh yes, this is the place to bring your kids for a fine vacation. Maybe they'll get mugged, kidnapped, raped or even murdered.

Worst damn vacation I've had in my seventy-three years. The city smelled horrible, the traffic was outrageous, and the people were downright rude and mean. A complete hellhole, filled with jackasses...may NYC rot in its own filth forever.

Everyone has to go sometime in their life. It is so fun. There is a lot to do. It is great. That thing about them being a$$holes is not true. Everyone was VERY nice.

Mr. MacPherson is 100% right...NYC is a terrible, TERRIBLE place to be taking your family. Both my parents were killed there while minding their own business and my little boy was hit by a crazy driver who was doped up on some street drugs he'd just bought. Never will me and mine be returning to that filthy town!!!

That's right folks: bring your family to NYC and enjoy the smog, crime, congestion, idiot drivers, and fanatical terrorists. You'll never want to leave--and maybe you never will....
