A new era began in the AAA International League with the admission of the Havana Cubans in 1954. The League, now "truly international," embraced three countries. In 1960, the fall of the Batista regime caused the League in mid-season to transfer the Havana franchise to Jersey City (Players allegedly complained it was safer in Havana). (Add picture)

This sounds like the kind of story that should be turned into a movie script: baseball team has to flee Cuba when a former baseball player leads a revolution. The team then discovers that Jersey City is scarier than Havana. Call the studios!
