The mainstay opponent of the well-known Harlem Globetrotters for years, the Washington Generals were best known for their spectacular win-loss record, estimated at 1-13000. Founded in 1953 by former NBA playerLouis "Red" Klotz, the Generals' only win came in a 1971 game against the Globetrotters, with Klotz scoring the winning basket. The team mercifully disbanded in 1995.
