The only time I've played golf is in the video arcade (maybe it was an old version of Golden Tee?), and even that has been a long time now -- so long, in fact, that in those games choosing between the wood and the iron was a key decision in the advance toward the green. It was one of those little things that made golf at least a tiny bit interesting. P.S. It would be interesting to speculate about whether the decline of the persimmon-wood club has led to the increased availability of the fruit (a good thing in my book).

I don't golf too often. My bag's 3-wood and 5-wood are still persimmon. I figure, you can top the ball with titanium just as easily as persimmon.
