 | supremecritic (2) 09/14/2006 | there has and will always be poverty but in the global economy things aren't bad, infact there good, perhaps not for every country but in general. however moors law says that because the global economy is driven by technology and there is a limit at the moment as to how powerful computer will be able to be built then one day there will be a global economic crash

 | Gentle Jude (23) 05/06/2005 | The economy part isn't so bad, it is the poverty which is a major problem in our world. You tend to get poverty when you mix technology with indigenous people. That's why there are so many poor people in Africa and India. It is because there are governments there that have mixed their technology with people who are used to living off the land and don't know how to use all that technology. And the governments won't help them. That's why there are third world countries. The government doesn't know how to manage all the technology it has either. So you get an indigenous government trying to act like a technologically advanced Western government. It just doesn't work. Their governments don't know how to handle and manage the money, build watering systems. It is a complicated problem. Plus some of the third world governments are very greedy and don't help the poor. The only thing we can do is give financial and physical aid such as food and labour, and give mental aid like helping the governments of those third world countries to know how to manage it's problems eg how to build a watering system. I watch the James Robinson show sometimes and it does make me sad seeing all those poor people he shows us. But I think the solution to the problem is not just giving financial aid and food. That only masks the problem. There needs to be something big that happens to the structure of the government because in those countries, I see poor people, where there are houses in the background. America doesn't have those problems nearly as badly (because their government knows how to better handle it's resources and build houses and watering systems) so why should they? Poverty is a sad thing and causes a lot of suffering. Partly why there is also poverty is because of the rich, especially the rich countries. We and these countries spend all their money on themselves without giving much away to the other countries in need. There is a saying that is true - There are enough resources in this earth to satisfy our need, not our greed.
