08/23/2007 | One of my most favorite places! The red rock canyons are absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. Make sure to rent an offroad buggy and visit the places most others don't even know about. Only $200 for four hours, they give you maps to ancient indian sites and remote, challenging off road trails. Don't miss the Cowboy Club for rattlesnake dishes ~ I promise you'll never turn your nose up again after try that one! Plenty of pet friendly lodging that makes this stay more enjoyable. Best views are free if you drive up to the airport, there's a lodge up near there with the friendliest of proprietors. If you go to Slide Rock, do NOT stand on the wet rocks, they are extremely slippery and I saw a lot of people getting hurt when they fell.
