This is such a beautiful country. If you are a nature person, this is definitely the place for you to visit. Winters are a little long, but then again if you like winter sports this place is perfect for that.

The winters are long, its expensive and boring at times but the fantastic scenery, beautiful women and quality of life make this one of my favorite countries. Bergen is arguably the most scenic city I've been to in the World.

They have some good NHL talent also. What I like best about Norway are all the hilarious black metal bands who make their home there. These face-painted freaks never fail to amuse me.

What a pile of crap, Janey_Lane. I'm assuming you're from the United States (correct me if I'm wrong)... and we've got absolutely NO history of killing endangered animals. As far as environmental offenders go, the United States should be number one on the list. We use more fossil fuels and more nonrenewable resources than any other country in the world. We single handedly destroy natural ecosystems for corporate gain, and we think nothing of polluting the world. And you're bashing NORWAY for environmental wrongdoing? They only have one of the cleanest, most pristine countries in the world. Contrary to your experiences, every Norwegian I've encountered has been very friendly and sincere. I hate to attack your opinion directly, but it seems to me that you're being unfair and hypocritical.

Long, dreary winter days and not enough sunshine are not high on my list. Lillehammer and the Olympics not withstanding, I can't get too whipped up about a nation that is shaped like a spoon. Expensive to live in. For all its professed tolerance, there has been a dramatic increase in non-white, non-Christians into Scandinavia, and the cracks of its tolerant facade are starting to show through. Witness Svee-den, Feen-lont and Dayne-a-mark.

Norway is a lovely country - independent and beautiful. I've only been there once (to Voss) but I found it restful, healthy and gorgeous to look at and experience. In response to Eric's comment - Well done to Norway for not being dragged into the (fascist) European Union - a truly terrible monolithic organisation which no true democrat can stomach belonging to.

I believe Norway to be the most beautiful country in the world. Nature lovers will love the many snow-caped mountains, lush forests, beautiful lakes and fjords. Oslo has something for everyone. My favorite attraction is a beautiful park in the heart of the city. It has many wonderful botanical arrangements and it is full of Gustav Vigeland's statues. The city of Bergen is a very beautiful and clean city. Bergen is a wonderful place to go to explore Norway's history. North of the arctic circle, one can view the midnight sun in the summer, and the northern lights in the winter. Full of beautiful mountains, forests, waterfalls and fjords, Norway is truly Nature's Triumph.

Probably the second most egoistic & racistic country in the world, after US! I should know this, since I am a Norwegian myself. We were to interested in our own culture to join the European Union in 1995 & we are the only country witch has denied joining EU twice! The racistic "Frp", witch UN has used as an example of racism in Europe, has support from each fifth Norwegian! Do NOT travel to this country! :o(

Too sleepy a country for my tastes.
