I only squeeze as hard as the other. I wouldn't want to break a potential employers hand.

I think you mean vise grip. A vice grip would probably be a handshake from a criminal.

Sometimes overeager young men and teens will give an overly aggressive grip as if to prove their strength or manhood. Among men who should know better, I am a little suspicious, what are they tring to prove or worse, what are they hiding. I wouldn't make a quick judgement right away on someone's character but this might be a factor in judging someone. Then again some people never learn to shake hands and they are still very decent people. Just something to consider.
