Pretty common from where I came from. Cheek-kissing, in certain places and times are mendatory, which is ok if another person is appealing to you, but when another person is reppeling - it's not fun.

But only if she's hot..seriously,I hace been on the receiving and giving end of a few of these.Some close and dear female friends greet me thusly.One woman inparticular,likes to get 2(or4) kisses from me.

I've never experienced this because I have a permanent five o'clock shadow.

This is someting I do with women I'm familiar with such as family and close friends. I pretty much keep it at that.

Having lived in Latin America for a while, I got used to this in a hurry. I'm a big fan. The only thing that beats a kiss on the cheek is a kiss on both cheeks (which is what the gals do in Brazil).

I don't know, this carries with it some stigmas about how it seems to always be used by the wealthy or uptight. They never actually reach the cheek, they just kiss the air near the cheek. Zsa-Zsa Gabor comes to mind saying Dahling!

A little uncomfortable, from those who aren't familiar with each other. I mean, if someone does it to me, I'll go with it, but personally I prefer not to kiss anyone except my husband (and occasionally I'll little kisses on the cheek for my niece).
