If you love cities and urban sophistication, then you will positively LOVE Mexico City, which is at once bigger, grander, smellier, more crowded, and utterly more fascinating than just about any other world capital. In Mexico City you'll find more museums than any other capital city in the world, from the endless Museum of Anthropology to the many art museums dedicated to such masters as Diego Rivera, Rudolfo Tamayo, Frida Kahlo, and others. The Metro makes the city a safe and easy place to get around. Tons of big luxury hotels, trendy restaurants, and fashionable boutiques around the Polanco area. So much more...

It takes time to discover the brilliance of this city.

Well, as fairest pollution, sadly but surely, it is present. Yet, any other city in the world has pollution, but is less advertised. So, don't think that New York City, or L.A. or Chicago don't suffer the same experience. In fact, we know how the whole world is polluted. Let's skip this subject for now. But, I would like to say that D.F. is very rich in culture, and like other people commented, D.F. has a variety of places to visit. I also give Mexico City credit for its existence. Don't be afraid about theft, you got to walk the place like you own it, or else people will take advantage. So, have fun, and look at the bright side.

What a great city. Definitely one of the coolest cities in the Americas - up there with New York, San Francisco, Buenos Aires, and Rio - but for different reasons. DF (as it is called) is a frantic bustle of everything - from charming Coyacan to the shady Zona Rosa, to the sophisticated Condesa, to the posh Polanco - this is a city to get lost in for a while. Watch yourself though - I got drugged in a mariachi bar in Plaza Garibaldi and narrowly escaped with my wallet - but we'll save that story for another day.

Mexico City has great cultural and historic significance. Very interesting things to see. Unfortunately, the polution and the crime rate are too high.

This city is WAY underrated. I lived there for a couple of months and found it to be a kick-ass place. Tons of history, museums/culture etc., the nightlife is great, you are in a great location to take road trips to a lot of the other little towns (San Miguel de Allende, Taxco, Acapulco, etc), and a pretty green, beautiful city as well. Plus the food is outstanding, as is the beer. If you get a chance, try Indio and Victoria beers, they blow Corona away.

Mexico City has one of the worst air pollution problems on the planet
