This is a cute little town, the center is very quiet and the church is a definite stop in this little town, plus the shopping is great for any silver fan!

Taxco is a quaint little town and a nice place to do some shopping especially for silver. If you are in Mexico City, make the drive to Taxco to buy any silver you will receive a much better product and higher grade of silver. It is very laid back and you are not harassed by the street vendors like you are in Mexico City or other typical tourist locations. Some of the shops are like walking through miniature silver museums where craftsmanship is superb. As with most churches in Mexico the main church in town is another example of fine architecture.

Very worthwhile trip to the peace and cheerfulness of the past just two hours from one of the largest cities in the world. Definitely worth staying over the weekend for. Keep in mind for your next business trip

A charming little town built around the mining industry. The impact of mining is everywhere - from the fabulous stone and crystal nick nacks sold in the little shops to the silver everywhere you look. If you get a chance to go to this town, make sure you stay up on the hill. There is a really quaint Holiday Inn (I'm not kidding) with a spectacular view of all of the white-thatched roofs of the town. Also, make sure to spend some time in the Zocalo. Best of all, it's only two hours from Mexico City in a car, on a world class highway.
