This kid gave me a dip when I was in fifth grade; it was Gold River, the snuff equivalent of Lancaster Chew. Sweet but suprisingly good. After all these years, it's still around. The anti-Copenhagen, we used to make fun of people who dipped it. But it aint half bad, sez me.

I walked in the gas station this morning and look up as I was asking for my can of Cope and see this can that look so fimialar as a kid and what could it be but Gold River,

I still got my can of Cope also bought a can of Gold River to bring back those childhood memories of taking my first dip

I have tried them all! The first time I tried it, I thought it taste like honey. But, it is one of the only brands that don't make me sick or dizzy when left in your gum for a long period of time.

This iwas the very first can of chew I ever got.. funny, back when I got it my buddy and I wents halfs on it.. lit was like 75 cents or somthing. IT was was Red's market in Chowchilla, CA back in Id have to say 1979-1980s I couldnt have been more then 8-10 years old. hah I dont know how we bought it underage? must not have been so many freakin rules back them.. anyway, had some gold river and it was just like candy.. little did I know about a few years later Id be dippin Cope and really have a habit.. haha
