With all the beautiful destinations in Ecuador, the only reason I can think of to spend time in Guayaquil is if you're changing planes at the airport. The city is ugly, industrial, hot, and humid. If you're going to visit Ecuador, skip Guayaquil and head right to Quito, Banos, and Cuenca.
